On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank

A- Two finger light mocha colored head resting on a deep brown body. Decent retention eventually leads way to a small ring of lace. 4

S- Roasted and toasted malts, toasted nuts, slightly grainy, bakers chocolate 4

T- Similar to the nose there is roasted and toasted malt, nuts, chocolate, slight coffee, slightly grainy. Very similar to Sam Adams Black Lager which I really like. 4

M- Good mouthfeel. Good carbonation level. Ever so slightly watery. 3.5

O- A very good beer. 3.5

On tap for the 2nd Anniversary event at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots and streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt and coffee ground aromas. Taste is the same with some slight cocoa nib flavors. There is a mild roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is very easy drinking.

Also had this on tap at Tonys Darts Away. It's a great black color with a touch of lacing. There isn't much head, just a ring of tan. The smell is very subtle, there's a toasty nutty hoppy note that comes through, but even more in the taste. Other than the very nice roasted hoppy flavor there's a nutty molasses note that comes through as well. It's not sweet, and not overly bitter. I'm really enjoying this one. Overall this might be one of my favorite American schwarzbiers. I definitly want to try this in a bottle to see how it stands up there.
