Enjoyed with aasher 4/30. Poured into aecht schlenferla snifter. Pours a deep mahagony with tainted white foam head that leaves nice lacing that swirls to the top of the snifter

Smell is very rich and nutty with notes of chocolate, molasses, raisins and toffee

Nice rich scotch ale with light chocolate and some nice toast. Beer finishes with some nice raisin and molasses.

Really nice feel on this one. At 8.6 alcohol is only slightly detectable.

Great scotch ale. By far one of the best ive had.

Picked at the Sierra Nevada gift shop, corked and caged 750 ML bottle of beer.

Clear brown colored ale with a small tan colored head.

Smell is smoke and malt with a bit of molasses and toasted dark bread.

Starts out smoky and slightly stinging on the tongue tip. Stronger bitterness and sweetness on the second taste. Tastes pretty much like it smells with a little bit of a medicinal taste to it. There is a strange smoky cake batter flavor to this. You can taste the alcohol level in this one.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a good beer, I might buy it fairly often if I didn't have to drive 700 miles to get a bottle.

This beer was courtesy of BrewerB in an epic box full of Beats, thanks again Brian!

This beer pours a medium bodied rich mahogany in color with an elegant and creamy one finger head that sat atop the beer for a couple minutes. The nose is nice and malty with plent of butterscotch and cherry. The flavors feature a nice yet not overly sweet malt bill. It has notes of caramel, butterscotch, cherry, and oak. It has nice flavor all around. The flavors are pretty complex for the style. It drinks medium in body and both a little sticky and dry. Overall this s definitely one of the better representations of the style. I'm glad I could try this small release. Pick it up if you still can.

Thanks to ariotofwords for sharing this one at Retsinis' tasting.

Pours a hazy reddish-orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, and smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel, fruit, and smoke flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice subtle smoke presence all around.

A- amber red with white head, medium bubbles

S- sweet, smoky, sherry scotch ale smellin sunnuvabitch

T- nice and pit fruity, and well balanced by the spiciness of american grown british hops (a guess)

M- very crisp and well carbed. nice balance between resiny hops, and thick malts against the thinning qualities of UK yeast.

000- nice. an excellent beer.

Picked up a caged and corked bomber at the SN Brewery in late March for $8.99.

Beer poured brown with a beautiful tan head that has retained pretty well.

Nose has hints of smoked malts.

Taste has hints of caramel, dark fruits, and smoked malts.

Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and so very smooth.

Overall this is a very well made brew. I would actually not mind seeing this as a seasonal rotation as there are not too many wee heavy brews of this quality. Once again a mighty fine job by SN!
