12 oz bottle poured into a 10oz flute

A - Beautiful deep red color, amber hues, a little bit of sediment or thickness

S - Relatively pungent ipa smell, strong malt smell

T - Initial feel of both refreshing but complexity

m - the different hops combine for a lingering taste

o - A solid beer I will be drinking this all season. Sierra Nevada rarely disappoints!

12oz bottle poured into a nonic pint.

A - Medium sized cap of tan head holds a solid cap. Pours a brilliant amber that leaves great lacing.

S - Dank, spicy, hemp-like earthy hops. Mildly bready with more toasty malt, noticable alcohol.

T - Starts with a lightly toasted malt, slightly sweet base that holds in the background in its entirety. Hop flavor peaks its head in midway with more earthy and spicy dimension. Finishes with good hop flavor and moderate bitterness to balance out. Crisp/dry mouthfeel with some lasting hops.

M - Just heavier than medium body, medium-light carbonation, finishes very dry but some sweetness early on.

O - Very solid pint right there, perhaps my favorite Red IPA to date. Hops come from a different angle than most American IPAs. Plenty of room for more assertive hop bitterness that would shy from being too one sided. Malt plays a great role in this beer though and this is quite drinkable.

This is a different beer than the other Flipside 6.2 Alc by Volume.

Label states whole cone Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops were used.

This is a clear red colored ale with a good sized tan colored head.

Smell is herbal and slightly bitter but not really a hop bomb. Caramel, toffee, strong tea and citrus aromas. Some chocolate and coffee aromas, pretty balanced scent.

Starts out mildly sweet with a mild bitter finish and a lingering tobacco leaf after taste. Not a hop bomb but it's no wimp in the flavor department, straddles the barrier between APA and AIPA. Toasted grain with an herbal hop accent and a little patent malt just to make it a little more complex with some subtle coffee and chocolate flavor. Manages to be both interesting and user friendly at the same time.

Mouthfeel is full.

Overall a damn fine beer with no defects of any sort. Might as well buy two six packs because you will want to finish them both the same night.
