Very light blonde, lots of head. Very little smell, aside from the typical cheap pils smell of metal. There is the slightest maltiness, but it's essentially fizzy metallic water, with less bitterness than sparkling water. Not overcarbonated, and easy to drink, if you want to.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2015. ABV stated as 4.8%. Purchased a little while back from Aldi.

A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A crystal-clear pale gold hue with good carbonation. Yields a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before reducing to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of light malt with hints of husky grain, stewed leaves, faint earthy yeast and a twinge of overdone veg. Fairly average.

T: Tastes of light malt with a crisp, dry finish. Notes of subtle grain, husks, stewed leaves, mild overcooked veg and faint yeast esters. Well-attenuated, followed by a delicate bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of light, husky malt, stewed leaves and faint yeast.

O: Pretty standard fare - decent but nothing to write home about. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are relatively bland with vague hints of malt. Noble hop character is lacking. Body is OK. Not a patch on their Berliner Weisse - no need to hunt it down.

Pretty broing but at least it was clean in taste. there was nothing particularly "wrong" with it, but it could have done with a bit more flavour and body, sweetish.

I was in Berlin for the first time and was very impressed by this pilsener. I drank 12 or 13 different kinds and this and another that i will review rank as the best.

It is a perfect summer beer, i could probably drink this to excess but as i am now in my late 30s i am past the drinking for intoxication only stages.

Served on draught into a Berliner Kindle .3L goblet in Berlin. I'm not certain a goblet is really the best vessel for any pilsener, but I'll give the brewery the benefit of the doubt.

A: Clear blonde with a decent bubble show. A one finer head of lovely cream and good retention.

Sm: Clean barley scent typical of pilseners but of stronger aroma. Exciting.

T: Almost tastes like an "extra-cold" designation beer. The open lacks cream and jumps straight to the body: standard barley, maybe some crystal malt, and a finish of watery wheat, though this last note is sublte in a bad way.

Mf: Better than the taste. Nicely coarse but too wet. Fails to complement the body.

Dr: It's cheap by upscale Berlin standards, but the quality matches the price. The more German pilseners I try, the more I think the Czechs do pilsener better. Give it a go if you love pilseners, but don't get your bollocks in a twist when it's mediocre.

Poured from a 33cL bottle into a small pilsner glass.

A: Looks for all the world like bubbly, clear urine. Thin head.

S: Nice, crisp herbal smell. Slightly floral; very pleasant.

T: The smell is indicative -- light, crisp, lightly skunky and/or floral. Beyond this, there isn't much flavour or comment. Decent, but not anything more than an average pilsner. Vaguely watery as the aftertaste demonstrates most strongly.

M: Good, crisp, light, and pleasant. No complaints.

D: A delightfully sessionable pilsner. A pitcher of this should disappear in no time. Good example of the style.

Served on-tap in branded cervoise at La Piazza in Berlin, Germany.

A: Clear golden with frothy 1/2-to-1-finger white head with good retention and spare lacing.

S: Mineral, aspirin aromas without much else. Light pale maltiness underneath, but very light.

T: Lacks the sharp mineral hoppiness of the above-average of this style and instead takes the low-road of blandness without much malt or hops character. The pilsner maltiness is in too short of supply to really push through and take center stage.

M: Reasonably crisp but it lacks the dryness of the above-average group of pilseners.

O: A pretty unremarkable brew -- not much to decommission it, but really nothing to suggest it either.

Served cool from 500ml bottle purchased for £1.09 from Aldi, into pilsner mug.

L) Pale yellow colour, clear, lots of bubbles, fluffy white 2cm head. Looks the part.

S) Pilner malt and saars hops for sure, maybe a bit of skunkiness, although it is a brown bottle.

T) Clean pilsner malt taste, some slight sweetness, and a nice subtle hop bitterness.

F) Fizzy and light; the bitterness just takes away from the refreshment slightly.

O) A good pils, and for £1.09 for 500ml its a bargain. Will definitely buy again.

A: Pours light golden, almost straw-colored. Large white fluffy head takes some time to dissipate, leaving rich lacings.

S: Light in smell; some clean malts and faint bitter hops.

T: Light in taste; bready malts and some hoppyness, but actually - not much going on...

M: Aftertaste is the best part; rather long and with a nice bitterness. Body is medium and carbonation is held back to a medium.

D: Where are the dry German-style bitter hops??? This goes down so smoothly, but that is not a good thing in German Pilsener.
