The other one of two bock beers my father brought home from Berlin (The other one was Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel) and this one wasn't as good as Andechser I tell you.

Pours a very bright, clear golden colour, with a nice head.

The taste is powerful, full on with hops and a sweet malt character. One thing saves this beer from being very anonymous, and it's the aftertaste of apple pie.

All and all, a nice bockbier. I think it would be good having it to some regular pub food.

Poured a short, dense, off-white head that fades slowly. Sweet grainy aroma has hints of fruit (peaches or pineapple, not sure). Brilliant deep golden colored beer holds a few tiny bubbles. Mouthfeel is light on carbonation, soft and full. Flavor is full of malty sweetness that comes off as a bit corny to me, but that's just my interpretation of the standard bock flavor. Again it's a bit fruity, like mild pineapple. It's different. Quite light on carbonatin, a bit fruity, but there is underlying alcohol. Not a bad bock. I guess I'm not leaning either way on this one.

Appearence: served in the usual half liter German style bottle with aserve bu date. Beautiful golden amber color with a head that disipates quickly. Carbonation tapers off quickly.

Smell: Somewhat malty somewhat toasty but a bit bland.

Taste: some kind of almost burnt taste next a certain sweetness with a follow up of unatural bitterness. Flavors do not flow or combine to what they should do as a bock.

Mouthfeel: Weak, not very flowing. They have no real good exchange just a barrier between the flavors.

Overall: Not a very tasteful beer. It seems that the quality is lacking and should deffinately not be a good example of a bock beer.

Tated this beer in Prague, which comes in a small, short-neck brown bottle (330ml) with a different beer label (a fighting ram) from the one displayed here.

Appearance: it pour s a dark brown colours, with a fast-retreating beerhead and medium carbonation.
Smell: basically roasted/dark malts, lightly burned brown-sugar, plus very very soft aroma of hops...
Taste: pretty straight forward at first--dark-malts, along with juicy black-plum's slightly tart fruitiness and lightly sweet fruity palate like that of longan-fruit tea. A very smooth finish with almost non-existent bitterness in the end.
Mouthfeel & Drinkability: the mouthfeel is very soft and smooth against its high alcoholic strength. But overall the flavour is a bit inadequate and not complex enough for a strong beer like this, hence the average drinkability.
