Hazy golden orange color with off-white head. Aroma is grassy, yeasty with clean, floral esters. Taste starts slightly sweet and floral with some yeast notes and finishes more balanced. Medium to light bodied with medium carbonation. It's a really simple Belgian style ale.

Here's a new beer from a Birra Del Borgo, a brewer I have some respect for after trying their well-crafted Duchessa. This fine ale has become one of the brewers favourite session beers using premium Senatore Cappeli wheat as a malt base. What does that mean? Who knows, I simply "bere la birra" [Italian-style!].

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Chimay chalice.

A: Hazy sunrise body with a wisp of white head drifting along like a lonely cloud... wait that's the laser etched logo on the bottom of the glass producing said lonely cloud... still appealing nonetheless.

S: Fruity bubblegum aromas permeate the nose along with candi sugar, some cake frosting and a note of bread yeast and cloves.

T: Yes, indeed, everything noted above; bubblegum, candi sugar, hint of clove, cake frosting with buttery diacetyl and bread yeast... but more... more SUGAAAR!!! Yes it is a bit sweet, good I say, cloying other more intelligent punters might say.

M: Diacetyl loans itself a slippery character to the mouth-feel and the body is medium with minimal carbonation.

D: Bit of a sugar-bomb, but a likeable sugar-bomb IMO. The Dan that is Murphy's is selling this fine beverage at $4.09 a pop, disregarding the weirdness of the .09 cents at the end, this presents real value in comparison to other Belgian Dubbels/Strong ales. I may be insane but I like cheap beers that taste like expensive Belgian ales, and this brew has that in spades/diamonds/clubs/jokers. Simply put: if you like Belgian Dubbels/Strong ales get this beer, post it to me, or drink it, whatever.

Note: Says "Saison" on the bottle but this is no Saison, more like a Dubbel.

Food match: Sugar-bombs like this make me think of Medieval feasts with pig on spit and other bizarre meats such as; swans, peafowl, quail, partridge, storks, cranes, larks, linnets and other songbirds that could be trapped in nets, and just about any other wild bird that could be hunted and cooked [Medieval-style!].
