Hazy orange pour with a small creamy white head that turns into a bit of froth in a while.
Nice hoppy smell, leafy, with pine, grapefruit, a whiff of peach and tropical fruit, light malts, and a certain minerality.
Sweet taste, didn't see that from the smell, but the hops start their show early on, grassy bitter, with lots of grapefruit peel and a sweet herbal note. A touch of tropical fruit and some sweet orange, but pretty subtle. Biscuity malts. Some dried cereal to go along with the resiny hop dry finish, quite bitter.
Aftertaste has leafy bitterness and some malt, faint floral notes. Medium body, quite carbonated and not really the most easy-to-drink beer out there. A lingering hop spiciness, too.
Good IPA, tho it has a few faults. Easy to get past them, only because of the sheer quantity of the hops. A bit of complexity might've helped, too.

IPA with an Italian twist. Goes towards the Belgian IPA style but isn't really there. The beer has a high carbonation but the taste isn't quite "Belgian". Overall, a decent "hybrid" IPA.

When poured, it was a very dark shade of orange and pretty cloudy. Very foamy, and good lacing. Smells quite like pine, kind of floral as well. Nothing superb stood out about the taste, but there was definitely some pine in it. It was harder to notice at first but as time went on and the beer warmed up the flavor was definitely brought out. The one thing that I did not like about it was that it was so dry. If you like dry IPAs then this is definitely for you, but if not, I would look elsewhere.

this is everything i love about the italians. the yeast is so awesome, this is one of the driest pale ale types i have ever had, it just closes the curtain instantly in the finishes. it almost finishes before the finish, beyond snappy, just done, so cool, especially in a hoppy beer. weird to call it an american ipa though, it definitely isnt that. its more of a pale ale, balanced well, even though it is hops first, and equilibrium is definitely found. just short of amber in color, light maple in looks, hazy golden reflections, and a lively bone white head. it smells and tastes a lot alike, grassy euro type hops, maybe even noble varietals, and a grain base that likely includes some wheat, and a touch of a medium weight crystal malt. there is a real bigness to this, even though its effervescent in carbonation and so dry. its creamy almost explosive on the palate, just feels bigger than it is. i also love the yeast, which is where its really at with the italian beers. its pushing belgian, but definitely more mellow on the fruitiness, and not quite as intrusive to the flavor profile. just amazing beer, extremely sessionable. borgo has started to pull away form the rest of the italian producers for me. they are so creative and unique, and have had less misses. price points are brutal, but you get what you pay for with this one!

Russet brown, white head. Very bready, mild hops, cola. Slate coating of the palate, pretty mild. Def different but good.
