Saison spiced with gentian. Cool. Hazy, burnt white gold with a white head that holds very well and leaves pretty lace. Nose is floral, fruity, (tangerine, peach, raspberry) slightly musty and maybe a touch woody (cedary? comes out a lot as it warms. really nice touch whatever it is). Taste is delivered on a soft coton candy body, and it's well balanced, slightly sweet and even a bit minerally like a white wine. Notes of pepper and ginger pop up too as well as a touch of bitter lemon coming through in the finish, which is long and luscious. this is an extremely complex, yet refreshing beer that goes down way too easy.

June 2015: 750 ml bottle, as Birra del Borgo Genziana con radici, from Vinmonopolet. BB date March 2015. ABV is 6.1%. Clear deep golden colour, moderate white head. Strong sweetish malty and herbal / vegetable aroma. The flavour is also quite sugary sweet, notes of malts, caramel, herbs and vegetables (the radishes, I assume). Low bitterness. Not really my cup of tea. Drank it moderately chilled - might be more refreshing ice cold.

This is a pretty tasty beer. It's super floral, grassy and with a great balance between sweetness and the floral bitterness. Lots of bitter greens on the nose and taste. Extremely drinkable!

On the "1001", this was an odd beer. I probably won't buy it again and review it.

Hazy orange color with creamy, white head. Aroma is grassy, herbal, like a herbal tea with camomile. Taste has very nice saison notes along the herbal component. Slightly sweet but overall really drinkable. Body is really soft and has medium to low carbonation. Really tasty and easy to drink.
