Shared bottle at regional tasting. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma with oxidised sherry notes and oak. Medium sour and oaky flavour. Fairly good.

2012 Vintage
Faded and oxidized. Still get a hint of the grapes and funk though.

Pours a hazy, vibrant orange. Smells mostly of white grape/sauv blanc grapes. Tastes like it smells, heavy white grapes, fruity, light/medium-bodied, crisp and refreshing.

OK who bottled sparkling wine in this beer bottle? Look: rose with som haze, smell: pretty awesome city's, Apple, maybe cranberry, taste: is it bine or weer or what. Tastes on a wheat laced sparkling rose scheme. I've had some fruited JKs that are similar (Figlet). Feel: Again a bit confused that it's supposed to be beer, but as a sparkling beverage, overall good. Overall: my sense is an overload of grape / Chianti And champagne techniques rendered a hybrid. Not worth $30, but another interesting product.

Pours a burnished red colour with disappointing rim of lace. Small bubbles, a bit flat overall with not much head or lace. Nice colour though.
Smells quite tart and funky. Earthy, barnyard kind of aroma with some notes of cinnamon, orange and some green apple notes. Slight acidity but mostly fruit, spice, yeah pretty decent.
Taste is quite funky - Belgian spice with organic barnyard character. Berries with some orange peel, cinnamon sticks and clove. Notes of barnyard funk, with horsey flavour, some fermented honey notes and some mild tart berry notes over the top. But yeah, mostly funk. Classic funky notes in fact, which I'm grateful for, because there's a feel that they might have tried to do too much with this, and the classic, subtly organic flavours win out overall.
Nice texture, bitty and quite dry on the back.
Yeah, not quite what I expected, but nice interesting complexities and classic in style. Really back to basics but with a bit of punky edge to it too.
