Look: Dark golden color with a big white head that stayed for awhile and had some good lacing.
Smell: There was a good aroma of hops, sweet floral smell and a little pine. However, the scent was not very strong.
Taste: Really liked the taste of this one. It was a good balance of hops and pine and some sweet malt. Also had a very dry finish, which is a favorite of mine.
Feel: Very smooth with a dry finish, had a good thickness to it also.
Overall: Really enjoyed this one. I grabbed it because its hard to get fresh Kern River hops where I am at, but this was canned on 7/25, and I am glad a bought a sixer of it.

Picked up a six pack of 12oz cans in Turlock CA over the weekend. I haven't seen this breweies product this far up here in Norcal so I thought I'd give it a try. Pored into a glass mug. Typical amber colour, nothing special, with an off white head that quickly levels out. Smell is quite nice, piney but not over powering with a citrus edge. Tastes very good, piney and citrus like the smell with a slight fruity undertaste. Good mouthfeel. Goes down smooth. Prost!

Surprisingly pulpy orange appearance; very nearly opaque. Modest head production and retention.

Hops are quite restrained on the nose, but there's no hint of staleness. Slightly tropical, slightly citric, and a bit of both pale and caramel malt. This beer is hiding its goodness from my nose!

Plenty of flavor on the palate, though. Initial notes of grapefruit and pine, but a big juicy wave of melon and mango quickly follows. There is indeed a good deal of malt balance, as well: slightly grainy caramel, brown sugar, and sweet pale malt.

Easy drinking and smooth. Lively with little sting.

A beer like this would be hard pressed to live up to its name, but it's still very tasty.

Can poured into a Kern River Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer that hangs around and leaves plenty of thick lacing.

S: Fruity side comes out first, tropical, stone fruit, hint of melon, followed by pine, citrus, a little bready malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Resinous pine, earthy herbal notes, citrus, lemon, grapefruit, and orange, lots of underlying fruity notes, passion fruit, peach, apricot, a hint of melon, bready malt,

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Maybe comes up just of being "outstanding", but still a very tasty IPA.

Pours a amber with a nice thick off white head. The nose on this is pretty unspectacular. Getting some very faint pine and light malts. Taste of pine gum, a little grass and malt also citrus pith. A bit of a unpleasant off taste with this one, maybe just my can but I'm getting a lot of tannins. Medium body and a dry finish.
