Swung by the Brewery tasting room today and they had Shebang on tap... Scored me 4 samples of this.... good stuff cheap! ;-)

It was a clear, medium golden colored brew, with a creamy, short, off-white layer of foam up top. Had steady carbo and a good amount of stick. Aroma was heavy on the rindy, citrussy hop action! Quite inviting!! Body was medium to medium-plus, with minimal prickle attacking the tongue.

Flavor had loads of hopping and scant maltiness. Plenty of rindy, citrussy, pithy bitterness attacked the palate, but not without some balancing sweetness in the guise of some apricot and tangerine. I could drink this all day, but at 10.50% ABV, maybe not.... ;-) Zum Wohl!!!

Bottled on 2/17/15.Poured into a small tulip glass a honey color with a large billowing head atop that settled very slowly.Citric hops and big caramel/nutty malts, the malts are as big as the hops but it's appetizing enough.Big and sweet on the palate like alot of the DIPA style, brown sugar, caramel, and alcohol mixed with citric hops.Alot of good styff here,if it just wasn't so weet on the palate it would be a true knock out.

Draught @ Hayseed: This one pours a hazy, darker golden color. There was a small off white head that left some lacing. Good nose. Coriander, yeast, wheat citrus. The taste is very good. Wheat, yeast, coriander, citrus, touch of bitterness and earthiness.

A: The beer is hazy yellowish amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high off white head that gradually died down, leaving a large patch of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of piney hops are present in the nose along with hints of citrus and some bits of alcohol.
T: The taste starts out with strong amounts of bitterness that stand out in front of notes of grapefruit and piney hops and alcohol along with hints of underlying malts.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and crisp on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is not for the faint of heart as it really packs some punch in its bitterness, body, and alcohol. Needless to say, it is a slow sipper.

One of a large number of samples I had at the Extreme Beer Fest in Boston 3/21/32014. A bit sweet for my taste, but nice ipa.

375ml cork and cage bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Hazy red-orange color. Creamy pff-white head. Good retention. Spotty lacing.

S: Green, grass clippings, fragrant pine, sweet nectarine, fleshy and pithy tropical fruits, sugar coated gummy candies, faint whiff of alcohol, candied malt base.

T: Intense bitterness grips the tongue. Pine and resin in a big way. Catty and soapy. Grapefruit rind. Earthy. Leaves and bark. Oily. Caramel and toasty crust. Grass clippings. Bitterness builds to notch 11 and never relents. Fleeting nectarine flavors come out now and again. Big spike of alcohol and tropical esters. Big, bitter and oily finish.

M: Medium-thick body. Sharply carbonated. Highly astringent. Somewhat chewy.

O: This really just veers off into 'too big for its own good' territory. It's kind of the point to push the envelope with a triple ipa, I realize, but this could use some more polish. It just gets to be a chore to drink with all the alcohol and unbridled bitterness.

Super medicinal, asprin flavor is overpowering. Falconer flight lovers might enjoy this.
