Hayseed is our new summer seasonal offering. It is a delicious sessionable farmhouse ale, also known as a grisette. Light-bodied, yet flavorful, Hayseed is like liquid sunshine: perfect after a hike, floating in the lake, or while playing fetch with your old brown dog.

Light and refreshing with a hint of lemon. This is a good summer choice.

This was poured into a tall tulip. The appearance was a glossy lemon yellow color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Thin subtle sliding lacing. The smell started off with a sweet to zesty lemon pulp and sticky bitter rind. Extra sweet citrus slides over white bread and cracked black pepper. Light coriander, subtle grassiness and some rye bounce in for the balance. The flavor brings it all together nicely with a clean soakingly fresh citrus sweet aftertaste and smooth finish. On the palate, this one sat about light bodied with a nice sweet sessionable feel to it. Low carb, and feels great for Summer crushability. Overall, nice crushable Summer saison. Should be in cans and pounded on my fishing boat.

Slight haze to a pale white gold color. Crystal white foam cover.
A very earthy, herbal, spicy wheat aroma. Strong earth and dry leaves scent, slight vanilla and more funky earthy herbs.
A sour wheat malt taste is very impressive. Big golden wheat>spice and herbs>slight citrus from yeast and hops. Very clean, but full of Farmhouse-style goodness. Perfect for gulping in the hot sun, working on the farm.
A very crispy and clean feel, light but also lush. A bit flat and mellow later on with more sour yeastie notes.
A very complex Farmhouse easy drinker!

Not much flavor. Not really a saison, but some saison characteristics, they are just faint.

12 ounce bottle - $2.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Scantly clouded, pale yellow body with a smallish, white head.
Smell: Frankly, a bit of an odd, floral, peppery aroma. Some underlying wheat, pilsner maltiness.
Taste: A blend of pils, wheat and white pepper, a touch of grandma’s floral soap, slightly grainy, slightly tart, with a hint of lemon candy. This just isn’t coming together for me at all. At all, Smutty.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation.
Overall: A bit off-putting, for me.

Light, straw gold color. Big delicately bubbly white head. Minimal lacing.Excellent head retention. Aroma and taste are "Saison light". Some lemon zest and mild yeast presence. The mustiness and "barnyard funk" that make so many Saisons special, are missing here. Mouthfeel is light and refreshing. This is an OK Saison but without the elements that make a Saison memorable.
