Good complexity, plenty of heat.
Very dry, earthy hop, earthy toned yeast, slightly sour and funky.
A well rounded, semi complex flavor, decent, but not outstanding yeast effect.
Not too shabby for an American saison.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Belgian tulip. Imprinted on the bottle: Bottled in 2015 ABV 7.8%
Look: Hazy golden orange to brownish, soapy white head that dissipated quickly. No lacing.
Smell: Apples, earthy hops, farmhouse funk.
Taste: Plenty of yeasty funkiness and hop bitterness.
Feel: Light feel, dry finish.
Overall: Not bad, but not the best I've ever had. Most likely would not pick this one up again if available; just not a huge fan of the taste.

Clearly a farmhouse ale, but Spank definitely delivers on hops. One of the few beers that tastes great but doesn't smell as good as it tastes. Kept picking up notes of Brett, but my fiancé (who hates anything with a hint of funk) really enjoyed this, so maybe not? Overall, finishes juicy and hoppy. Neat beer.

Bomber bottle - "brewed in 2015"
Pours clouded under a long lasting khaki cap. Leaves spotted and ringed sheets of lacing.
On the nose its pepper, lime, lemon
Flavorful hopped up saison, more lime, pepper, and also grainy hops and and toasted whole, wheat bread.....tasty and enjoyable....worth a try

The bottle is cool. I drank out of the bottle as I was outside on a really hot day over Labor Day Weekend 2015 while making tomato sauce with my bro-in-law and his family. The smell of the beer was rich. It tasted really nicely. It felt and tasted like well-crafted beer. I hope they make it again. It help quench my thirst and made the day that much more enjoyable. I will not forget it.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a finger width foamy head. Retention is mild, as is lacing. Sweeter farmhouse aroma with some citrus. Strong farmhouse taste with some sweetness and slight citrus. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Enjoyed this beer. Good farmhouse taste.

P: Hazy golden straw, with a huge two finger fluffy white head.
A: Malt, citrus, earthy, spice.
T: Lemon curd, spices, floral and fruity.
M: Dry, slight bitterness, medium body, slight alcohol,
O: Bold Saison, not the typical farm house ale I'm used to. Good job Smuttynose.
