Poured at fridge temp into a dimple mug

Pours a hazy reddish amber with a generous foamy tan head. 4

Big spiced cascade hops, some doughy dark bread, light caramel. 4

Taste is very hop forward for the kind of ambers/reds I'm used to. Once that herbal and spicy hop mutes a bit, dark bread followed by some caramel and soft bitterness. 4

Body is full, with moderate carbo, and has a lingering hop oil mouthcoating that is actually fantastic. 4.25

Overall a great hopped up amber I could easily drink a pitcher of (and not get plastered). 4

 

Deep amber colored beer with a small off-white colored head,

Smells of caramel and toasted grain. Mildly citrus hop but I can't ID it.

Starts out malty with a medium level of bitterness. caramel and grain like the smell with a good hop bite to it. That is about it but it is a well done beer that conforms to Utah's oppressive beer laws.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a quite good ale for something you can buy at Harmon's in Utah.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

just a really standard american amber here. pours clear copper to brick redish with a small fading fast thin white head. smells like amber malts, caramely and mellow. no hops to speak of in nose or taste, which might have helped it get a little more rich. feel is okay, maybe a bit watery and light on the body, but at 4% abv its to be expected. down easy, but nothing special here overall, and many of the red rock brews are superior to this one. skip it when you visit.

Pours medium amber with off-white head, on draft at the brewpub itself. Nose is rather light with a soft caramel candyish component. Caramel & light malt carry through on the palate, with an overall watery body and easy drinking quality. Comes across as one of those Michelob Amberbocks but even lighter, and more fruity/sweet.

They say never judge a book by it's cover...well sometimes the cover is better than the content.
This poured pretty good with nice lacing and a light copper color. So far so good.

There really wasn't much of a nose to it. I found a bit of malt in the flavor but it was stomped on by a slight bitterness (not in a good way bitter). Overall kinda bland with a slight metallic finish. No thanks

i love utah 4.0% beer, i can drink 2 pitchers and maintain that perfect buzz, and never get drunk drunk.
this beer has a nice copper color, but the smell and taste are what really sets this beer apart. Cascade hops come off the top like a smack in the nose, and the hops are just perfectly balanced with the malt in the taste. very hoppy for an amber, like a nice pale with caramel sweetness. outstanding

The smell is of toasted bread, caramel and some citrus.

The taste is of toast, citrus and caramel. Sweetish, despite citric flavoring (hops in taste more than in bitterness), with a dry almost woody, finish.

Light-to-medium bodied - slightly thin.

Very drinkable - nice - I'm thinking this one would be a solid candidate for a cask.

I am almost hesitant to write a review of this beer because I did not enjoy it. Therefore, I will try to focus on the positives. I found this beer to have a strong musty, caramelized malt character. It leaves a chalky coating on the tongue reminiscent of the taste Play-Doh would leave in your mouth when accidentally chewing it as a kid. I am almost thinking that I must have bought a batch that has experienced some wide fluctuations in temperature. This beer won a gold in 2005! Let's face it, the enjoyment of beer is strictly about taste. This beer might have strong appeal for those who enjoy a thick, heavy, malt character.

Pours a nice clean/clear amber color, nice carbonation, little fizzy off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing. The nose is malty, with some caramel. The taste is bitter, malty/caramel. The finish is dry/bitter. Medium body. Drinkable, not a bad amber ale, recommended.

Very faint floral hops on the nose
Big initial floral hop flavor that mellowed a bit on the back end with some faint malts, very west coast in nature

Finishes pretty quick and clean. Though a bit dry at times, it could easily be a session brew.

This beer poured a nice amber color with a good coat of head over the top of the beer. The nose had touches of caramel with notes of citrus hop, but nothing really strong. The flavor gave me some of the hops I craved to taste while in Utah. There were notes of caramel and a damn nice citrus hop that begged me to drink more. The feel was just a tough thin for my liking, but drinkability was really good. The beer was well balanced and just a good beer.

Medium brown color. A medium bodied amber. Malty and slightly hoppy. Malts are slightly caramelized and a little sweet. Nice flavor. Good balance. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, with some malt after tones.
