Crisp and refreshing. Quite tart and had a lot of carbonation. Excellent sour. So good in fact I went and bought a second bottle even with a $15 price tag.

-Pours a golden yellow, slightly hazy with good amount of light foam.

- Smells of yeasty dry straw. Not much going on in the nose.

- Malty farmhouse grass upfront with a nice tart lemon pucker and lactic acid. A bit drying on the end. Quite refreshing. Not very complex at all and no real funk.

- Overall, a refreshing sour farmhouse beer well suited for summer. While it smells like a fairly plain saison, the taste is fairly acidic and sour. Definitely lacks in the funk and complexity, either of which could really boost the stock of this beer. Appropriately priced for the size/quality ($13/750mL)

Way better than the previous 2 Birthday suits, which were almost undrinkable. I skipped this at first, but my beer guy assured me it was much better than the previous years and indeed it is. I have a few more, some to age, some to drink.

Poured from a corked & caged 750 mL bottle into a Brewer's Art goblet. Moderate hand. Bottled on 04/09/14.

A: 4.0 Cloudy, honey-gold body. 1.5 fingers of coarse, champagne-like head. Ok retention. Scant lacing.

S: 4.25 Light, citrusy tartness with notes of lemon, lesser cherry, strawberry. Some brett funk. Noble-type hops. Slight grass. Faint odor of the barrel - wood, oak, bourbon elements.

T: 4.25 Mild to moderate tartness up front with a nice brettanomyces-fueled must/earth. Some citrus fruit and lemon make their way onto the palate. Minimal hop bitterness on a mostly dry finish. No alcohol of note.

M: 4.0 Moderate to high carbonation with a light to medium body. Suiting. Fizzy.

O: 4.25 Pretty impressed with this. Very much a saison/farmhouse with a pleasant tartness and touch of barrel-aging. Less sour than I expected, but all-in-all it is an easy and interesting drinker.

Poured from the 750 bottle into a large tulip.
Smells funky, tart and sour but would have liked a stronger aroma.
Taste was really nice. Good brett flavor, lots of nice sourness and a touch of barnyard.
Mouthfeel was dry and crisp.
Overall, I was surprised by this beer. I liked it a lot!
