Thanks Emma for sharing.

A- Orange to Amber body from the 750ml to a tulip. A fizzy off white cap rises up to a finger with fair retention falling down to a small ring. Lacing is spotty and sparse.

S- Dark fruits in general obviously from the plums with a definite spiciness going along with that. Plum flesh and earthy pits. Tartness is hinted at.

T- Plums first and foremost and as a huge fan of them I am impressed by how they have captured the flesh and pit notes of the fruit. Tartness is medium low and feels like that of a plum and lactic. Some phenols bring a generally spicy hint. Earthy and plummy.

MF- Creamy and foamy consistency to a medium overall body. High end carbonation provides a crisp finish. Medium tartness and lingering plums on the palate.

Must be some plum haters or vomit bottles out there. This is full of fresh plums and tartness. Kind of one note but refreshing and captures a tough fruit flavor.

poured from a cork and cage bottle into a goblet.

This beer is all over the map. It pours like an American wild ale should and looks half decent, and then you smell it...it smells so acidic and awful from the plum that it resembles vomit. Yes vomit. Acidic, hot garbage, puke. That's what it smells like. It tastes kind of similar as well and I do not have a weak stomach at all, but this made me gag. Drain pour and waste of money. I'm very disappointe because 21st anniversary birthday suit was amazing... :(

I picked this up and wanted desperately for it to be great. However it's terrible, the rating I gave is mucho generous. It smells like vomit, and is the worst sour I've ever had. God I love Uinta, I really do, but year 22 is not off to a good start.

A: Pours a muddy amber color with a fingers worth of head that fizzles down to nothing

S: Some tartness up front along with dark fruits, plums, and earthy hops. No spiciness which should be expected in an "abbey ale", but I'm not sure that would go so well with the level of tartness

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with a moderate tartness with the dark fruits (cherries and of course the plums stand out). Goes into a bit of the earthiness and finishes with lingering tart notes and the plums

M: Medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation

O: A solid sour beer that focuses on dark fruits and the plums, but again I really don't get the abbey stance. Actually quite easy to drink given the level of tartness and nearly 8% abv. Another solid anniversary sour from Uinta

Bottled on 5/12/15.

Pours a murky reddish-orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is horrible with vomit, dirty diaper, earth, and rotten fruit aromas. Taste is somewhat better with slightly sour grain, dark fruit, earth, and slight bile flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer with horrid vomit and dirty diaper aromas and flavors that thankfully aren't as bad, but that isn't saying much.

Serving type: bottle.

Turns out, Belgian yeast plus plums creates a smell very much like vomit (as noted by other reviews). I seriously recommend *not* inhaling while you drink, in which case it isn't too bad, especially if you think of it as a Belgian pale with fruit added, rather than as a sour/wild ale.

Ok, before I get attacked... this thing has something wrong with it, I don't know if it was just my bottle or what. It had a VERY strong scent of vomit and just couldn't get passed that. I closed my nose and took a sip and even then the vomit flavor came through. Not very pleasant at all.

Slightly sweet floral front, sour tang hits the tongue and lingers, but not for too long. Very clean finish. Great beer to have with select foods, such as blu cheese. Highly recommended.

On tap at PreFunk. Pours out a dark copper, minimal head, sweet pit fruit aroma. Taste is both sweet and sour, very drying at the finish. More plums in the taste, but tartness dominates the experience.

22 oz bomber, poured into a flute glass at ~45 degrees F.

Appearance: Pours a surprisingly clear light amber, which shades to almost a pale yellow at the very bottom of the glass. Forms a quite thick head of slightly orange-tinted foam, which quickly dies to about half a finger, then lingers a spell.

Smell: A lactic scent leaps out the glass first, quite similar to milk that's gone semi-solid. Writhing through the spoiled milk odor, there are hints of sour fruit as well, and something akin to bile.

Taste: This is...odd. The beer opens with an overripe plum taste, which is sour, but less than one would expect given the nose. As the beer moves along, it becomes less sour and fruity, and more bready and caramelly, until the finish leaves an aftertaste that is pure bread.

Mouthfeel: Very highly carbonated, and light bodied.

Overall: Not a favorite sour of mine. Would not repeat.

Body is a true Amber tone. Head is a quick fading off white skim of crackling bubbles. Nose is abruptly vinous with a bit of over ripe plum. Slight fruit and apparent vinegar on the front of the tongue. The flavors are a little horse blanket and nicely funky. The plum could play a bit more, but this is a very good beer.

Look - Pours amber to light brown with fizzy head that dissipates quickly to almost nothing. Good distribution of small bubble while it is around. After a few minutes there are no bubbles at all.

Smell - Smells of plums, slightly funky, smells more like a berliner or gose than American wild ale. Very fruity, reminds me of grape candy. Slightly metallic which is a bit off-putting.

Taste - Sour and astringent. Lots of fruity plum flavors. Some bitter hop character when held in the mouth. Reminds me of sour skittles a bit. Finishes with a straw/hay character.

Feel - Thin and watery feel, tingle on sides of tongue. I've read of peoples teeth hurting when drinking sours, and I'm experiencing that for the first time here, although it isn't severe.

Overall - A bit disappointing, the sour notes are one-dimensional, and the complimentary flavors are a bit flat. At least I didn't pay full price.

From a bottle, pours a light brown with a wispy off-white head.

The smell is sweet, dried fruit, plum, funk, and heavy malt. The flavor is yeasty, more plums and grapes, tastes like heavy thick wine. This is good, but a bit out of a balance.

750ml Bottle
Caged/Corked
Bottled On: 04/30/15

Poured into a chalice a cloudy amberish color, nice carbonation, with a quick fizzy off-white head, minimal sticky lacing follows. The nose is slightly malty, with lots of sour stuff, plums, grapes. The taste is malty, slightly yeasty, with plums, grapes, cherries. Medium body, ABV is basically non-existent, bitter/dry finish. Overall, not bad for what it is, most likely would not buy again, at least not the 22nd Annv.

Pours a mostly clear red-orange with instantly fading fizzy khaki colored head; no retention, no lacing. Smell: red grapes, note of black plum, floral, candi sugar, note of buttered raisin bread. Taste: unripe plum, tart plum skin, metallic caramel, raisin-y sweetness, lactic and mildly herbal. Medium bodied, light and creamy carbonation, sticky finish. Nice concept but doesn't achieve a balance between dubbel and fruited sour... nose is mostly mediocre dubbel, while those same characteristics are a bit buried in the taste.

Delicious sour, maybe second only to my favorite, New Belgium La Folie. Tart, aromatic -- definitely smell the plums. And a quite nice (7.6%) ABV for its type.

Pomegranate and plum are accented by raisin and must. Berry notes emerge. Candi sugar and caramel notes become evident late.

Flavor is very citric sour initially, with pomegranate bitterness accompanying. Musty notes add intrigue to a light toasted malt backbone, and grape skin finishes. Very interesting, though the Abbey character is overpowered.

Ringing in their 22nd birthday, the Uinta brewers dawn their Sunday's best by dawning noting at all. Its naked character comes with the thin vail of plum for a fruity and sour attitude.

But as the russet-brown, ruby-hued ale nestles into the glass, its dainty white head begins to swirl above. With the overt scent of plum seducing the nose, elements of red wine, rose and hibiscus pronounce; but so do the pungent sourness of soured milk and bile. Its taste is of hardened candy, cola and toasted caramel before the middle palate latches on.

With the growing sourness making a mark, the sweetness slowly fades but retinas the steely caramels, pulled candy and cola-like nuttiness that keeps the beer medium and drab. Its sourish middle palate is playfully acidic but mild; leading the bulk of flavors into a fruity plum musty taste and texture.

Sticky, candied and cola-like, the finish of the beer is long and lumbered for sour ale and resists the clean and dry taste that makes such sours a desired commodity. Its linger of plum, red wine and candy keeps the beers flavors high on the tongue and tastebuds.

look: crystal clear honey colored. Sparse head.
smell: Dark fruit (guess that'd be the plums) with a tangy edge.
taste: the funky edge is more prominent than in the nose. Mostly dry with the plum fruitiness there too.

L: A very clear, light copper colored ale with a deep orange hue. The head is thin but long lasting with fine, off white bubbles.

S: A soft caramel sweetness with moderate notes of dark stone fruit and dried fruit. A faint floral alcohol.

T: A medium tartness and dark stone fruit flavors dominate. A dry, Dubbel-like base beer becomes apparent as the beer warms. There is no hops flavor and only a light bitterness allowing the tart notes to offset the faint sweetness, making for a beer that is moderately tart on balance. The finish is dry with an aftertaste of juicy plums with a tartness.

F: A medium bodied beer with a medium strong level of carbonation.

O: This beer get really nice the more you sit with it. The elements of plum, Abbey and sour are fairly well balanced allowing all the flavors to come through. The acidity and fruitiness make for a very food friendly beer.

Appearance: burnt orange in color with no head present while pouring. Appeared very carbonated.

Smell: something like candied dark fruits. Definitely note the plums as the beer came down to room temperature. Also aromas of yeast and maybe some vanilla.

Taste: starts out with sweet malt and then the sour follows in. But the sourness is not overly aggressive and is short-lived. The flavors presented traditional characteristics of a Belgium-style beer - dark fruits and yeast. It finishes with an astringent bitterness - like eating a ripen plum with a bitter skin.

Mouthfeel - medium bodied with abundant carbonation. Some acidity in the mouth.

Overall: this is excellent entry level sour. It's not overly aggressive and it has the malt that follows through. The only thing I find a bit lacking is the complexity. It starts out sweet and malty, the sourness follows-up but finishes quick and the aftertaste leaves almost nothing to search for except some bitterness like after eating a piece of plum with the peel.
