Best before 8/20/16.

Pours a murky dark honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of tangerine, tangerine juice, tangerine soda, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with tangerine, tangerine juice, citrus zest, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a smell that is like soda or juice versus flavors that are earthy and citrus hop forward.

Serving type: bottle.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a faint amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down, leaving a very thin layer of bubbles on the surface and a collar consisting of large bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of tangerines and caramel malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the underlying notes of caramel malts are stronger
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: For a Tangerine IPA, this beer isn't as citrusy as I expected and has a strong malt backbone.

Beautiful, bright and seriously bitter- the steadfast IPA of Uinta's Hop Nosh gets a citrusy overhaul that's equipped with the juice, peel, pith and ribs of the tangerine for an unmistakable jolt of vitamin c.

Hop Nosh Tangerine IPA pours, you guessed it- orange... but with an amber glow and a translucent haze. Its frothy goodness carries a healthy heaping of citrus perfume. While tangerine is certainly at its precipice, an undertow of red grapefruit, lemon and mango soon follow. A moderate caramel sweetness coats the tongue and gives the fruity hop impressions as well as the orange additions a sense of branch ripeness, dripping juiciness and a teeth-churning tang.

Suggestions of biscuit, bread crust and graham crackers trail off quickly and allow the hops and orange additions to carry the middle palate. Radiant with ruby red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon and passionfruit, the flavors grow into a taste of bitter sherbet or cream sickle but with that earthy, grassy hop bite. Sharply bitter with the aggression of hops, the bitterness is given greater heft with the help of those gullet gripping citrus peels and ribs.

Medium-bodied and retaining light sweetness, the ale's hops and citrus oils effectively strip the palate and usher in a high sense of refreshment and drinkability albeit that aggressive bitterness has moved on from the smoother and more rounded bitterness of hops alone. Stemmy, leafy with verbena, grassy and herbal, the aftertaste is of fresh green hops and marmalade.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 11/25/2017. Pours crystal clear deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop/fruit astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a delicious fruited IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops, tangerine zest, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Don’t really prefer this much over the base beer; but it is a lot more vibrant, tropical, and dank on hop/fruit flavors. Definitely a more modern hop bill. Nice malt backbone, without being sweet or overly aggressive. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz can.
Poured with a light copper colored body that has excellent clarity and is topped by a tall, frothy off-white head.
Aroma: dank, grassy and herbal; certainly not as fruity as expected but with a clear suggestion of citrus rind.
Flavor: More fruity and less grassy and dank than the aroma.
Medium body and carbonation.

On-tap 6/28/2016 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a tulip glass.

A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a short foamy off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains fruity citrus, caramelized malts and floral hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of tangerine and other citrus fruits. Then some breadiness comes in from a hearty malt character. The hops presence is mild for the style and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and a little crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a while.

Poured gingerly from a can into a frosted glass by the bartender resulting in a modest head. There's a nice initial ring of lace. Generally spots thereafter. The liquid is clear with a lighter amber color.

Toasted pale malts with a light bittering hop nose. Behind this lies a mild fruitiness.

The flavor is a bit upside down. I get the hop close to the beginning of the taste and sweet fruitiness at the swallow. Good body with a moderate carbonation level. The aftertaste has the bittering hop return, leaving a lengthy aftertaste.

I CANnot understand how I ended up with so many CANs of Uinta beers in my backlog. Following this one, The CANQuest (tm) will at least be current in terms of Uinta Brewing Company.

From the CAN: "Brewed with RENEWABLE POWER Wind & Solar"; "Squeezed by Uinta Brewing Co."; "Earth, Wind and Beer"; "Don't forget to [recycle]."; "Keep Cold".

The Crack! was nice & loud & so I followed it up with an inverted Glug! into the awaiting glass. The head sprang up rather quickly, forming three-plus fingers of dense, foamy, eggshell-white head with decent retention. Color was a hazy Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17). Nose was very citrusy with scents of grapefruit, lemon and tangerine! Mmmm. Make this into an air freshener scent & I will buy all of it! It really got my hophead mouth watering, I'll tell you. Mouthfeel was a little thin, not exactly watery, but not much beyond. The taste was quite bitter and citrusy, but it had that over-the-top bitterness of pith and rind, especially the grapefruit & tangerine flavors. Finish was dry and bitter, but again, the bitterness needed to be dialed in more precisely to allow the tangerine flavors to be better experienced.

First, from a CAN, now from a bottle! Today is T, 11 July 2017.

From the bottle: "Brewed with Renewable POWER Wind & Solar"; "Squeezed by Uinta Brewing Co."; "Forget the map, pack the Uinta"; "goes well with anywhere."; "Keep Cold".

Having Pop!ped the cap, I began a slow, gentle pour into my awaiting glass. A vigorous in-glass swirl raised two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, tawny head with good retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a pleasant resinous hoppy bitterness underlain with a sweet citrusiness that I would have simply identified as "orange". Mouthfeel was on the full side, not creamy, but big for an AIPA. The taste was aggressively bitter, sharpish with a grapefruit rind/pithiness that was marring the underlying sweetness of the tangerine. I was getting the tangerine, just not as prominently as I might have liked. Finish was dry & bitter, which is fine for the style, but when tangerine gets top billing, I expect more of its flavor in the beer.

Pours an effervescent amber with 3+ fingers of cream colored head. Very nice lacing & head retention

S: Faint citrus, not much else

T: Tangerine, dryness, a little pomelo & breadyness up front. More tangerine & pomelo, plus dryness as this warms. Finishes dry, citrussy, ( pomelo mostly & a little grapefruit )

MF: Medium body & form carbonation, pretty good balance

Drinkable & pretty good, but I want it juicier!
