Look: It pours light golden with a large white head. Head retention is good. There is some lacing as the head recedes.

Smell: There are heavy aromas of grapes. There are supporting aromas of leather and berries.

Taste: The grapes are in the forefront with some wheat and berry flavors. There are also leather components with a slight tartness.

Feel: It has a light body with a finish that is wine like with slight tart and earthen elements.

Overall, it is a saison that is more wine like, but the taste is good.

BEST BY 08/14/18 18S

(Let’s see how it tastes 4 months after the Best By date...)

Pours golden yellow, thick, frothy foam that laces heavily around the inside of the glass.

Very mildly musty grapes, coriander, sweet malt on the nose. Pretty balanced, no funk or off aromas. Lightly fruity in the finish.

Very tart, can’t tell if that’s funk from the grape must or a tart fruit quality from the gooseberries but it’s unexpected. Slightly sour and tinny, no doubt backlash from the old can. However overall, not bad even though those typical key qualities of subtle malt and coriander that a good saison has in the base typically were nowhere to be found. That tart grape and wheaty profile kind of took over.

Thin, sharp carb. Tart, lightly sour. Crisp, refreshing finish.

12 oz. can

Pours cloudy hazy yellow gold with a frothy white foam head. Smells like white grapes, gooseberry, lemon, orange citrus, banana, clove, peppery spice, apple, pear, some bready crackery malt, with floral earthy herbal grass pine. Tastes like white grapes, gooseberry, lemon, orange citrus, banana, clove, peppery spice, apple, pear, crackery cereal grain malt, with floral herbal earthy grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy with moderate smooth carbonation. Overall a real nice saison with white grape must and gooseberries.

Pours - light straw color with decent white head.

Aroma - Yeast, straw, white pepper. Little bit of lemon.

Taste - Very similar to the aroma, light yeast with some tart lemon zest with a touch of spice.

Feel - light bodied well carbonated

Overall - A decent saison nothing really stands out.

Pours a frosty pale yellow with a medium-thick white head. A bit of lacing left behind. Yeast, and gooseberries form a simple, underwhelming aroma. Yeast leads off the flavor profile with gooseberries, citrus, white grape, and a little bit of musty taste following it up. Mouth feel is a bit harsh, with a medium-thin consistency. Overall, an okay beer. Nothing special. Pretty interesting though.

Served in a 12oz snifter.

Pale transparent golden color with a fizzle of head. Nose of white grapes, and other fruits. Taste is Chardonnay grapes, pear, Apple and just a yeasty hint towards the end. Very crisp finish. Not your usual saison but nice light summery beer that is good to sip on. Not a true saison but very drinkable

Picked up a bottle from the brewery. Best by 5/29/16.
Poured into a tulip glass. Nice golden color with a little haze.
Minimal hop aroma but is made up for in pleasant tartness due to grape must.
Fairly sweet but with a dry finish, almost like a white wine.
Head is sweeter and fruity with finish more dry and tart.
Of course it's a Saison, so it also has that characteristic yeast taste.
Medium body with an almost sticky mouthfeel.
Overall this is a refreshing Saison, easy on the Saison. I would say a good Saison for beginners.

Fruity, Grape, Musty, Yeasty

Brewed with white grape must and gooseberries, Farm Side brings a filtered, clear pale yellow color with a creamy, clingy lace to the glass. Fruity and musty in the nose. Crisp, tannic, grapes, musty, yeasty a faint tartness and some bubblegum open up the palate, with an underlying astringency that runs throughout, into the dry finish, and dominating the linger. It's good, and the ingredients are complementary, but this Saison seems rough around the edges.

12 ounce bottle - $2.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Best Before: 05/29/16.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, pale yellow body with an inch of white froth kept alive by steady streams of carbonation.

Smell: Wheat, lightly sweet-scented. Fruity accents from the added fruit, also a bit of lemon and banana. Small portion of earthy spiciness.

Taste: A sweet wheaty taste on the tongue, with a joined mixture of hints of citrus, chewing gum, white grapes and berryish Spree candy. Restrained peppery, clove-like spiciness egged on by the tingly carbonation. A final bit of powdered sugar on the tongue before the crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Some saisons are truly a gift of the brewing arts. This, well, just falls headlong and unceremoniously into that vast, sometimes forgettable category ranging from 'okay' to 'fine'.

While saison often trends wine-like, the same peppery, acidity and fruity off shoots from yeast that manifests in their wines to the south can also influence the farmhouse ale on the northern side of the France-Belgium boarder. Uinta pushes their saison along to that winey side with the help of gooseberry and grape must.

Pale straw and classically hazy, the rustic ale leads with a frothy white crown, and rich and tangy scent of vinous fruit, berry, citrus and melon underneath a lightly pungent scent of dry hay. Its taste is supple and sweet, seemingly of sourdough, honey and fresh baked grains.

As the middle palate unfolds, the natural fruit flavors of lemon, orange, apple and grape skirt above a fleeting malt sweetness that eventually achieves wafer-like dry breadiness. As the yeast spices counter, they bring aspects of peppercorn, coriander, clove and white pepper. The strong overtones of gooseberry offer a tangy, cidery drift while the grape must carries the piquant fruitiness of sparkling white wine.

Medium bodied, the beer seems lighter at first because of the stern carbonation that provides a lift to the initial taste. But as the bubbles settle down, the finish is more moderately weighted, balanced only by the peppery spice and tartness from fruit additions. A medium aftertaste of bitter grasses and straw lead into peppery linger and the remnants of fruit skins.

Pours an effervescent gold with a sliver of pearl colored head. Stays effervescent, average lacing and head retention

S: Grassyness, pears, lemons, a little grainynesss, plus perfumy hops

T: Golden Delicious Apple, mild grassiness, a little coriander up front. White grape, a touch of out of place tartness, pear & delicate sagey hoppyness. Finishes with a little lemon a bit of salt & tart ( more like a Gose )

MF: Medium body, lively carbonation

Drinks pretty easy, but not completely true to style
