Yellow color. Huge, white head. Malt, flowers, yeasts, and grape must in aroma. Dry taste with decent, herbal bitterness at the end. Not enough complexity, but a good entry to the style.

Very light gold color with bountiful white cap and lacing.

Aroma of mild grain with floral touches. Perhaps a bit of fresh cut hay.

Taste is mild but layered. A small grain presence bolstered by non bittering hops and prickly carbonation. Spiciness is present but not the heavy clove-coriander-fruit approach of some Belgian styles. There is a slight underlying mustiness which I presume comes from the grape influence. Cannot say I really taste Gooseberries but there is an undeniable fruit element that carries things along. I won't call it complex but the whole is greater than the sum of parts.

Medium texture with a bit more than balancing carbonation.

Very likable, very refreshing and somewhat interesting for those who look for more in a beer. It's clean and well made yet undemanding. I could match it with a range of food and my AAL friends should like it as well.

#UNTHINKABLYDRINKABLE

(Let’s see how it tastes 4 months after the Best By date...)

Pours golden yellow, thick, frothy foam that laces heavily around the inside of the glass.

Very mildly musty grapes, coriander, sweet malt on the nose. Pretty balanced, no funk or off aromas. Lightly fruity in the finish.

Very tart, can’t tell if that’s funk from the grape must or a tart fruit quality from the gooseberries but it’s unexpected. Slightly sour and tinny, no doubt backlash from the old can. However overall, not bad even though those typical key qualities of subtle malt and coriander that a good saison has in the base typically were nowhere to be found. That tart grape and wheaty profile kind of took over.

Thin, sharp carb. Tart, lightly sour. Crisp, refreshing finish.

[Original rating 2018-03-10] 12 oz. can from the brewery store. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma of yeast, cracker, burnt malt. Taste is tart, white wine, yeast. The white wine really comes through in the finish. Interesting, complex. The initial taste is weak compared to the finish.

L: Clear bubbly yellow with an enormous fluffy white head. Long-last retention, with soapy lacing.

S: Coriander, clove, lemon, light gooseberry and white grape must, banana, crackery malt.

T: Banana and lemon upfront, followed by gooseberry, white grape must, green apple, and honeydew melon. Crisp cracker malt, hay, and some coriander and clove. Fairly dry.

F: Light, but not watery. Very highly carbonated. Smooth and fizzy like Champagne.

O: I wish the flavors popped more, but this is still a pleasant, easy-drinking saison.

12 oz. Can
Best Before: 08/20/2018

Poured into a Trillium glass a nice slightly hazy golden yellow color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, hoppy, yeasty, with some grapes/gooseberries, licorice. The taste is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, yeasty, with a nice touch of grapes/gooseberries, some licorice. Medium body, ABV is hidden nicely. Overall, a tasty brew, a nice thirst quencher.
