Had this beer up at the Cloverleaf on Friday night, which also happened to be the first time I had a big bottle from Uinta. While not as funky, cloudy, or spicy as other examples of this style that I've enjoyed in the past, this was great for the warmer weather and not as exotic as it came across as. So many reviewers on here have said that this was an "odd duck", which was true but it was still refreshing to find something unlike anything that I've had before!

Nice pour to this, as this was emptied out into the goblet glass given to me up at the Cloverleaf Tavern. The cloudy apricot hue was accompanied by a thick amount of bubbly head that filled up a decent portion of the glass. Not a strong aroma to this but there was a decent amount of cucumber to this and a bit of Belgian yeast and sweet malt. The taste was there this shone as the botanical aspects of the gin barrels came through. Not a lot of booze here but this was somewhat floral and botanical, which complemented the vegetable notes quite nicely. Almost felt like a Hefeweizen given the cloudy nature of this, the hints of wheat, and easygoing nature of a beer that should have been so much stronger, given the appearance of the label and style that this fell under. Light carbonation and a hint of alcohol only led to the confusion that was behind this.

For the summer, this would be an excellent choice as this went down easy and didn't have any lingering funk or spice to it. While possibly categorized incorrectly, I found this to be a great beer that fell just short of being weak or watered-down. Not a true farmhouse but still had plenty of cucumber flavor and body to warrant a go once, and worth seeking out during the warmer weather months!

A- Bomber pours into a few tulip glasses with a very hazy, cloudy golden body. A tall, puffy head rises up to about two fingers with thickness and decent retention. Lots of spotty legs with lacing present as small dots.

S- Aroma is a vast majority the Saison yeast with plenty of Belgian yeast spice, lemons, coriander, pink peppercorn, slight banana and a hint of apple. Whole grains like wheat, rustic fresh bread, a hint of cucumber and slight oak.

T- The turn this beer takes rivals the most differing aroma to taste beers I have experienced. The cucumbers absolutely blast onto the scene reminding me a bit more of melon than cucumber, could be a different variety I suppose. Beyond that is the coriander, peppercorn, white grapes, wheat bread, fresh apples, slight wet wood and lemons.

MF- Puffy and definitely creamy making for a silky experience and a smooth one. High end, zesty carbonation and a herbal bitter finish.

Hmm, a solid Saison base but the cucumber really becomes somewhat strange in the taste. It is very strong and more like a sweet melon and clashes a bit with the spiciness of the yeast; perhaps the barrel does something but that isn't so obvious to me.

A: A muddy yellow in color, with a nice white head.

S: Aroma starts off with a bit of a saison tartness, but then definitely goes to cucumber. The cucumber blends into a little Belgian yeast character, going a little to clove, but for some reason it works.

T: Tart up front, followed by a sweetness, then cucumber and a hint of melon even, there is almost a cantaloupe like flavor to the finish. I can’t get a lot from the gin barrels, but there is certainly a little bit of a botanical flavor to it which I am guessing is imparted by the gin. The finish is herbal with mint jumping out, and juniper possibly being imagined.

M: On the syrupy side of medium light. Bracing carbonation.

O: Overall this is one interesting beer. Complex, refreshing, and evolving with each taste. This is fantastic.

Cucumber Farmhouse pours a hazy golden color with a big lacing head. Mellow spicy aromas with hints of cucumber. Taste is creamy with small hints of spice, nice refreshing cucumber flavors. Good body and feel. Overall, name does not lie.

Fairly refreshing feel. Has a nice strong cucumber note. Farmhouse note isn't very strong. Moderate orange rind hop note with Belgian spices and banana yeast notes. Okay and worth a try.

Very interesting brew. A solid saison base, though the yeast overpowers a bit. Perfect amount of cucumber, more of a strong accent than dominant flavor. Gin is there but melds very nicely with the cucumber and saison base.

Overall solid beer. Dial the yeast flavor back a tad and this is a home run.

A: Pours a hay golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that quickly fades down to pretty much nothing

S: Fruity yeast, cucumber, light oak and botanicals, and wheat make up the nose. Interesting

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the yeasty background of spicy fruitiness and goes into the cucumber, oak, and botanicals. Wheat rounds things off. Finishes with lingering cucumber and yeast notes

M: Medium bodied with spritzy carbonation

O: Quite an interesting farmhouse ale that has plenty of refreshing cucumber and good depth from the oak and gin botanicals. Aside from that, there isn't a huge gin "kick," but at 6.2% that isn't all that surprising. A refreshing summer brew after all is said and done

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Cloudy deep golden with airy head. Cucumber immediately in the aroma, followed closely by some of the gin. Same with flavor, the gin barrel mutes and accents the cuke notes, tempering the flavor. Makes for a nice summer brew.
