When everyone zigs, Uinta zags. As the attention of the hop head turns to the hazy New England style of IPA, the Utah brewers rush the other way- the west coast way and latch onto a dry and bitter IPA that's a refreshing return to what got us all into hops in the first place.

Copper and hazy, Uinta's West Coast Style IPA crowns with a large and pillowy off white froth, ahead of a floral scent of citrus, light tropic and softly herbaceous pine scent. Its taste is caramelized and moderately toasty with the edges of poundcake, honey and caramel teasing the early palate.

As the sweetness methodically drops from the taste, the rise of hops continue; going from floral and whimsical to a ripe taste of brach picked oranges, pink grapefruit and light and tangy lemon to round the fruity hop impressions upon the middle palate. A late charge of resinous bitterness accompanies many nuances of sassafras, tea, stone fruit and a juniper-like twang.

Medium bodied and trending more and more dry, the beer's caramel and toast linger further into the session than the hops would have liked, eventually keeping the ale somberly balanced and still hop forward. This is a wonderful IPA that's about ten years too late.

L: Hazy orange with a creamy white head. Moderate retention, and solid sheets of lacing.

S: Orange peel, orange marmalade, mango, pineapple, caramel, honey, biscuit.

T: Orange peel and zest upfront, as well mango and pineapple. Then there's a big biscuit malt backbone with some caramel and honey. Finishes slightly sweet.

F: Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth and bready.

12 oz can, best by 9/15/17. Pours hazy yellow gold with a big frothy white head that retains well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is sweet fruity piney hops with a little sulfur.

The flavor is sweet biscuit honey malt with some fruity floral hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a decent IPA. I don't care for the biscuit and floral notes.

Poured from 12oz can into a dimpled mug. Best before 9/25/17.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate haze and a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Nice!

Smell: quite earthy, with a fair sweetness and a little bit of grassiness. Not too bad.

Taste: earthy, mild hops; relatively sweet with a pretty basic malt flavor. Bitterness is on the lowish side, but still relatively balanced. It's fine, but it doesn't blow me away.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer is pretty drinkable and completely unexceptionable, but also not very inspiring.

Amber body with a fat cream colored head. slight haze. Pineapple and dank. classic ipa nose. hop pepper. Good citrusy flavor. not too bitter, smooth malt. A touch of alcohol gives a gentle bitterness to the finish. orange peel. hops are floral overall. Soft body tropical fruit.

From the Beehive State in an aqua 12 oz can. Looks the part with a pale golden hue and cloudy body. Head looks good but doesn't last. Nose is full of yeast and oily, medicinal hops.

Some introductory caramel malt flavors are quickly set aside by a big dose of piney citrus hops. Complex, and a little balanced, this is pleasant to drink. The texture is a little thin at first but seems to fit the brew well. Very solid for the style and very easy to drink, if not truly elite.

From a growler, pours a slightly hazy medium gold. Big 2 fingers of foam leaves good lacing.

Smell is piney, spicy, earthy hops with notes of tropical fruits and sweet citrus. Taste is piney and spicy, with the fruit providing a nice counterpoint. Moderate bitterness. Feel is very drinkable but with enough body to give it some structure.

Overall, an excellent West Coast style IPA.

Another really solid hoppy IPA offering from an, in my opinion, under appreciated brewery. A bit of a malt profile, but west coast tropical hop profile all the way
