Super smooth and silky body. Peach, fruity, mango, hoppy flavor. On the lighter side of medium bodied. Smooth texture. Silky lace on glass. Pours an orange/yellow slightly hazy color. Smells like tropical fruits and hoppy esters. Very easy to drink. I like this.

12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a very cloudy, bordering on murky, not clear at all like the style, dark orange color with about 1/3 inch of white head that had low-moderate retention and very light lacing.

The aroma had some soft malts, and featured nice pine hops, but no citrus bite.

On the tongue, the beer was pretty similar, and some grapefruity citrus bite did appear at the back of the palate.

The body was on the light side of medium, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was fine, but I wasn't inspired to rush out for another one.

Overall, a nice enough brew. Worth a shot if you see it.

Slightly hazy yellow brew-- I didn't know we had to have oats in our West Coast IPAs. Plenty of foam in the Stella Artois goblet with a sudsy mouthfeel. A hint of peaches in the aroma is the nicest feature. Flavor is a little murkier than I would hope. A hint of passion fruit, lime peel, and finishes with bitter spruce.

Malty but not much sweetness. Some astringency. Classic bitter aftertaste, and it gets more bitter as you sip. From the 12 oz can purchased at the beer store in the Far Northwest.

Appearance: Pours a light and bright golden color with a white head. SRM of 8 (3.75)

Aroma: Dank and resinous melon, red grape, ripe orange and pineapple, and berry. Dank and resinous. (4.00)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with lots of dank and resinous fruit. Melon, red grape, ripe oranges, pineapple, and berries. Lots of mashed fruit. Finishes bitter and resinous. (4.00)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Dank and resinous, but not too heavy. Appropriate carbonation. (3.75)

Overall: A very dank and resinous IPA without being to sweet or heavy. Compared to the orignal Hop Nosh IPA, this one has more dank tropical flavors and slightly more bitter. Less caramel malts. I wouldn't label this as "west-coast" blind, because I don't think dank and resinous necessarily classifies west-coast. Some of the most original west-coast IPAs use traditional C hops that taste much different than this. It's on par with some of the any Mosaic/Simcoe creations. Ultimately, I don't have a clue. Either way, this one doesn't leave the forest floor. Dank and resinous and delicious. (Final Rating: 3.96)

12 oz can from a 6 pack purchased from Plaid Pantry in West Salem.
On sale for $7.95..and I see why by the base of the can its best by 8/8/19.
OK lets the fun begin.
Pours surprisingly hazy orange for a "West Coast Style IPA"..very lovely thick and frothy half inch head
Aroma is slightly off fruity, peaches/mango. But weirdly "eggy". More peaches. Some floral..no dank whatsoever.
Taste is barely hoppy at all. Weak...out of date. Like a flabby pale ale. very disappointed..malty..in no way or form ( in this state a West Coast IPA.
Mouth feel is OK is suppose..but whats the point.
Bad beer..even though it has a week to go before the 'best buy" its dead.
Why do they distribute beers like Uinta which never sell well in Oregon..i see them fading away on the shelves..for months not moving in the big stored Freddys etc while great Oregon beers ..like Ex Novo etc are totally ignored.
Something far wrong here.

Picked up right before closing on a recent work trip to Logan, Utah. This would be my 10th beer from Uinta, having given the other nine an average rating of 3.97 with eight of the nine being rated higher than the other Beer Advocaters. Online description read, “Our bold and citrusy West Coast-style India Pale Ale—brewed using four different hop varieties—features pronounced aromas of pineapple, mango and pine.” Mentioned hops were Denali, Mosaic, El Dorado and Chinook. Sounded like a good mix.

Poured an amber clear color with three fingers of rocky white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass at different speeds. World-class uneven foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)

Smelled Mosaic, Denali and El Dorado for hops. Also pine, juicy pineapple, mango, lemon, white grapefruit, watermelon and peach. More of the same from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted similar to the nose. First thought was how smooth it was for a West Coast IPA. Got juicy pineapple, pine, mango, white grapefruit, lemon, peach, bitter citrus rind, tangerine and all four mentioned hops in order - dry Chinook, Mosaic, Denali and El Dorado. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Clean, crisp finish with a little bit of bitterness. This was the best part of the beer. (Feel - 4.75)

Just an outstanding IPA. Wish I would have got more than just one can. (Overall - 4.00)

From a 12oz can:

Appearance: Hazy gold, good head.

Smell: Pineapple, light citrus.

Taste: Sweet, pineapple, citrus, fruity. Low bitterness for the style.

Overall: This west coast style IPA is a little light on the bitterness but still tasty. Nice change of pace from the orange juice bombs. Did not notice/realize this was "gluten reduced", still had good taste, body, and feel.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is straw, slight chill haze, head is white with fine bubbles and presents less than 1/2 inch thick.

Smell is slight with hints of tropical fruit, pine, resin, grass and light toasted malt.

Taste is similar with light tropical fruit, not so much citrus but the sweeter notes of papaya and mango; pine and grass are mixed in as well with some light toasty malt, hint of crackers and biscuits.

Mouthfeel is on the bitter side on the cold end, but then softens with more light sweetness coming through with warmth, lingering balance of sweet and dryness on the tongue.

Overall a solid, mostly clean ipa with lighter flavors and aromas, light sweet and dry presence.

Greetings & welcome to Uinta Abita New Beer This Sunday, Bro./GEN Woody (Week 721)? The answer is a resounding "YES!" & it helps that The CANQuest (tm) is also involved.

From the CAN: "Beer Brewed with Renewable power - wind & solar"; "Pack it in - Pack it out"; "Stalk us?"; "Great tasting & gluten-reduced! This beer was fermented from grains containing gluten and crafted to remove gluten. The gluten content of this product cannot be verified, and this product may contain gluten."; "Parked by Uinta Brewing Co Salt Lake City Utah USA"; "Goes well with Anywhere."; "Forget the map, pack the Uinta".

What gives with all of this gluten-reduced jazz?!? I wanna drink a beer, man! First, though, I had to Crack! open the vent in order to CANmence a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It worked out nicely, forming a two-finger cap of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with good retention, leaving loads of sticky lacing in its wake. Color was a pretty Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, causing The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus to do an about-face & come back into my kitchen from the living room n order to get a taste. Nose was kind of odd in that it had a pronounced biscuit malt presence in addition to a pine resin & grapefruit hoppiness, underlain by a tropical fruitiness. Hmm. If they CAN pull this one off, it will be a marvel! Mouthfeel was medium, about on par for the style. The taste was an interesting mélange of flavors, ranging from resinous and bitter to tropical & fruity/sweet with a slight twang, perhaps from the malt or their jiggering with the beer. I wish that there was a score between 3.75 & 4.0 as such is what I would prefer to assign this one. It was decent, but it did not taste like a 4.0, nor was it as low as a 3.75. Grr. The other niggling doubt in the back of my small mind was whether this was a good exemplar of a west-coast AIPA. I would not have said so, especially given the emphasis on the malt, making it more English. It was an odd little duck, to be sure! Finish was somewhere between semi-dry & dry. It was interesting, but I felt satiated by just one. YMMV.

Solid IPA. If you're at all familiar with the Uinta lineup, this is one of their better and more interesting beers. Golden-orange liquid. Good inch of foam from the 12 oz can, left nice lacing. The floral and mango notes really slide out of the malt, not too bitter, very drinkable. Well balanced.

Light gold color with white cap.

Scent of piney hops augmented by some fruit/citrus notes that I can't quite identify.

Taste is led by flavor close to those in the scent but malt enters with them and plays more than a walk on role. Malt actually builds as we move toward the finish and plays equally with hops in the aftertaste.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a good one, balanced and tasty. The flavors are simple and separate each from the other yet work well together. Glad I opted for the six pack.
