Tilted Smile breaks away from the crowd. Big in alcohol, yet approachable and versatile. Confidently balanced with Saaz hops and 100% Pilsen malt. Crisp and delightfully carbonated.

Shared bottle at RBNAG 2011. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Nice hoppy aroma, hints of tropical fruits. Decent hoppy flavour, the alcohol is well hidden.

[Original rating 2012-08-24] Pours deep gold with a thick off white head. Aroma is unremarkable, spent malt with a hint of booze. Flavor is hoppy, spicy, again with a hint of booze. The malt comes through in the finish, the alcohol warms as it goes down. Nice mouth feel.

Look - Poured into pilsner glass, hazy golden color, a short white head, no lacing.
Aroma - Honey, apple, table sugar, butane.
Taste - White bread, simple syrup, clean alcohol, odd fruity flavor, maybe cantaloupe.
Feel - Medium bodied, low carbonation, very syrupy, alcohol burn. I've had 8%+ malt liquors that drink smoother than this.
Overall - Trainwreck.

A mixture of good and bad elements. Good: slick, syrupy body, nice alcohol warmth on the finish, Bad: Overly cereal grain aroma and taste. See Lagunitas Scare City for a good imperial pils.

Pretty yellow vibrancy yielding a bright white head around 3/5". Dropped a sorachi like lemon aroma, saaz hops, noble stuff.
Hit the carbonation, spritzy, biting edge hops. Good light lemon citrus tang. Somewhat noticeable alcohol. Bitter. Would be better paying $10 for a 6 pack of this instead of a 750ml. Prolly won't return to it at that format/price, but would in the summer if it were $10 for 4/6pack of 12oz.

750 ml cork and wired topped bottle served in a pint glass. Date stamp is unreadable.
This is a boozy, relatively malty pilsner that gives the impression of a cross between a pilsner and a barleywine.
It's also quite sweet for a pilsner, although not at all cloying or overly sweet. The hazy apricot body doesn't look like a typical pilsner either, and the head and lacing are poor by pilsner standards.
Mouthfeel: medium-full body with medium carbonation and some heat from the alcohol.
O: poor as a pilsner but a rather nice American Strong Ale.

2013 Bottle served cold in a pint glass. 750ml bottle.
Pale honey color with a nice cap of foam. Nose is sweet with honey, malts, and some hop aroma. Mouthfeel is dense, much like a stout and very heavy on the tongue. Taste is very sweet, almost cloying at times. Malt forward, not very complex and not terribly refreshing. It coats the mouth and is sticky (like most Uinta beers I've had come to think of it). Not a bad beer and I'm glad I've finally tried the style but I would not buy this again. It was very cheap though, $9 for a 750ml isn't bad.

Cloudy orange, lasting sandy-colored head with sheets of sticky lace. Smells very malty with some orange rind in there. Taste is sweet, malt-driven, some mild fruit esters, a touch of boozy spice/warmth on the end. Heavy, kinda sticky kinda creamy mouthfeel, not much carbonation makes its way through this syrup. I wish I could transfer these qualities to some otherwise great stout. The problem with this beer is the style: supposed to be light and refreshing, but also trying to cram a ton of alcohol in there; the result is not going to be classically balanced. This one hits that off-balance well.
