A: Black with a creamy brown head.

S: Pineapple, orange, mango, some floral notes in the nose.

T: Pineapple and citrus followeed by coffee and some dark chocolate.

M: Full bodied and a bit creamy, not quite smooth.

O: Delicious! I love the pineapple, and the combination of fruity hop character and the chocolate/coffee flavor of the roasted malt is amazing.

I love this beer. I can't tell you how many times I've picked it up with the intentions of reviewing it and ended up drinking the entire 4 pack.

A- Thick black pour with a 2 finger tan color head. It looks like I just poured an espresso shot. Rich and creamy.

S- Smells like a chocolate stout with a lot of floral hops.

T- Front of the tongue has a slight piney taste while the following is a rich toasted and chocolate malt taste with floral hops. Let this one explore your tongue.

M- I love letting this sit in my mouth and just explore all of the flavors that hit my tongue. It's rich, creamy and complex.

O- I wish this beer came as a 6 pack and at a slightly lower ABV but if you can't love the beer you want then love the beer you're with. This beer is a real pleasure, I highly recommend it.

Pours a pitch black color with a thick, light brown foamy head. Head retention and lacing are excellent. Aroma of licorice, dark chocolate and slight coffee. A more roasted malty taste with a licorice/dark chocolate aftertaste. Big hoppy burst. Somewhat astringent, soapy aftertaste. Has long been one of my favorite beers. It still is.

This poured more like a stout than any IPA, black or otherwise, that I have ever seen. The color was deep and dark brown with only the tiniest of light piercing the lower edges of the glass. The head was a thick froth with average retention and considerable lacing.

The aromas are very fruity with oranges, tangerines and mango. There is some piney hop character in the end with an almost waxy scent.

The flavor is tremendous as it is dominated by tropical fruits. Reminiscent of Kool-Aid the fruitiness is very apparent with a some orange and tangerines near the end. The more floral hop character is hidden and the malty char was never found.

This drinks exceptionally smooth with little alcohol presence and a very late bitter astringency.

I don't have a lot of experience in Black IPA's but of what I've had this is the best.
