This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a semi-dark to bronzed dark brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated practically immediately. Lacing was mostly messy, and kinda stringing itself all over the place. The smell started off with boozy sweet sticky pumpkin spices, ginger, slight allspice, and slight cinnamon. Light breadiness warms into balance it out, damn, and wow! The taste was boozy sweet with subtle balancing sweet pumpkin spices really nicely. There was a subtle sweet boozy aftertaste running into a sweet sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with an awesome sipping quality about. Overall, an absolutely fantastic imperial pumpkin ale.

Look: REddish brown with re hues and a light tan head. Big head and lots of lacing. Crystal clear.
Aroma: Pumpkin, alcohol
Taste: Pumpkin spice, vanilla, oak, and some caramel sweetness. Has some heat to it on the finish, some slight oxidation flavors
Feel: Syrupy
Overall: Drinks like an american barleywine with some age on it (bottle is about 20 months old)

I love anything barrel aged and a pumpkin must be a challenging feat to nail. But this one is pretty good. The array of spices is present with added vanilla and booze. I would definitely get again if other imperial styles weren't available.

This beer pours a murky deep rust with a small head. The aroma offers up lots of nutmeg, candied orange peel, brown sugar, clove, pecan - essentially all the classic winter spices. The flavor is quite sweet, with nutmeg, clove, almond paste, vanilla, orange peel, and roast apple. The mouthfeel is full and sticky, almost syrupy with pillowy carbonation. Overall this fits well with in this style - a big, sweet, spice driven beer - and while it may be gauche among a certain set, I am actually growing fonder of these. The barrel aging makes this a more complex, with big vanilla notes woven right through the spice.

Spicy strong ale in style. Had marzen-y notes and with light pumpkin and light bitter spices. Get some oak, needs more depth. Interesting, festive.

Bottle from Lulu’s. Nice pour, muddy brown with initial high foamy head. Woody , earthy aroma, pumpkin kicks in in the taste, not the pie spice. More barrel notes here in the flavor . Alcohol burn comes Kate, but finishes if off really nicely. Glad this was my first of the season, ad ill be burned out on them shortly. Well done.

A 22oz bomber with a bottled on date of 9.9.14

L - Deep red/amber, with no clarity, 1 finger of red, and some nice lace stickiness

S - Spices, pumpkin, and alcohol

T - Spices overload, which is beautiful, pumpkin, and booze. Great combo!

F - Medium body and light carbonation (it's 2 years old), goes well with the brew

O - A very tasty barrel aged brew with lots of spices, enjoyable

From a large, corked bottle, this is a light-brown, orange-ish, hazy brew. The head is slim and off-white. Pumpkin dominates the aroma, along with pie spice....nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and clove. The smell is intense and pungent...earthy and pervasive. The taste is balanced, with lots of spice. Bitter, starting in the mid-taste. The body is firm and the finish is spicy, earthy, and lingering. This is a reasonably good pumpkin brew.
