From a large, corked bottle, this is a light-brown, orange-ish, hazy brew. The head is slim and off-white. Pumpkin dominates the aroma, along with pie spice....nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and clove. The smell is intense and pungent...earthy and pervasive. The taste is balanced, with lots of spice. Bitter, starting in the mid-taste. The body is firm and the finish is spicy, earthy, and lingering. This is a reasonably good pumpkin brew.

Poured from a 22 Oz corked bomber into a pint glass. The appearance is a dark copper color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is a fantastic blend of fruit, spices and malt. The taste is a very nice mix of fruit, spice, hops and oak. A really good pumpkin ale.

Poured from a 22oz can into pint glass in January 2016. Brewed date on the can was 9/28/2015.

Appearance: Dark brown with a tan head. Beer color is deep, with some carbonation. Head is thick, and leaves a little film on the glass, but not much.

Smell: Aroma a mix of sweet aromas like caramel, and some spices. There is some hops aroma as well, but it is dominated by the spices.

Taste: Very spicy and strong pumpkin flavors. There is some tartness from hops, along with some earthy tones. There is also a distinct flavor from the oak barrel and the strong alcohol, The spices and alcohol dominate, but it is not overly sweet. Probably more alcohol than normally found in imperial pumpkin ales.

Mouthfeel: Full-bodied and smooth. Strong alcohol, which confirms the 10.31% listed.

This is an interesting pumpkin ale, and the taste is dominated by the spices, pumpkin, and oak flavors. It is not too sweet, and is interesting to drink for something different. I would drink this again.

Look: It pours a ruby red color with a slightly off white full head. There is pronounced lacing as the head retreats.

Smell: There are aromas of pumpkin, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, other spices, hints of oak, and alcohol.

Taste: The flavors present are pumpkin, bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, spices, oak, and toast.

Feel: It is moderately bodied, but fairly smooth. There is pronounced alcohol warming, but it is not over bearing or hot.

Overall: This is a bourbon and pumpkin combination ale with the flavors and barrel aging that has pleasant warming but not the spiciness of others pumpkin ales.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy amber brown body, crowned by a prominent off-white head, with excellent retention.Thick, intricate lacing adorns the glass walls, The aroma presents as a

Aroma: Prominent wood and bourbon note dominate the aroma, along with prominent pumpkin pie spice notes.

Taste: The taste begins with over-the-top pumpkin pie spices, lots of sweet alcohol and wood. The spicy, rich alcohol provides a distinct presence throughout the taste, never overpowering, but never overshadowed, either. Prominent spices are present as well, with vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and wood being particularly notable. As the taste progresses, the spices and wood really shine, with the alcohol offering a pleasant and warming undercurrent. Finishes with a lingering note of pumpkin pie spices, alcohol, and wood.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and full, with soft, delicate carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: An excellent, over-the-top example.

Presentation: Packaged in a 750 ml brown glass Belgian-style bomber sealed with a cork and cage. Served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice. Bottled on date of 09/08/2014.

In Memoriam: Pumpkin (April 1998 - November 22, 2014) - the best cat ever. We will always miss you.

Bottled September 18, 2013 and enjoyed November 22, 2015 in pint glass.

Look - I thought I would need to pour it aggressively to get any head but was wrong. Poured a second glass down the side to get slightly less than a finger of tan head. Head that is there does stick around. Clear amber/clay color. A little sediment.

Smell - Bourbon. Pumpkin. Cinnamon. Vanilla. Cherry.

Taste - Two years did this beer well BUT it is still a pumpkin beer. Cinnamon. Booze. Pumpkin.

Feel - It sits much better than fresh pumpkin beers I've had. Smooth and creamy. Carbonation doesn't really translate to the feel.

Overall - This bottle was a little over two years old. It is still a pumpkin beer but I like the subdued taste with aging.

Amber colored and you can just make out some microscopic particles suspended within the body from the oak barrels. There's a half inch of tightly knit beige head. Heavy lacing. I smell nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice. The taste is dominated by the woody oak flavors in the front of the palate. The mélange of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. The mouth is a bit warm with alcohol and lightly chewy and sticky.
