pours slight hazy orangeish with nice head that hangs on for a while. not getting much fruit on the nose. maybe more floral and earthy. taste is really balanced with nice feel and nothing really overpowering. hops and malt seem to blend togeather with some earthy and piny hops and cracker like malt fading away without leaving me with a strong opinion. this beer overall while well balanced is nothing I would really go back for. not at all bad. but forgettable.

I agree with priceisalright's March 15th review. Hop Nosh used to be delicious, and this last purchase (3/20) was terrible. The beer was bitter and had an incredibly strong and unpleasant aftertaste for this IPA lover. My favorite beer is Ballast Point Sculpin, with Founder's Centennial, Stone IPA, and Ithaca Flower Power frontrunners as well. I originally felt Hop Nosh was outstanding back when it went under the name Hop Notch...but this year, I would never give it a rating anywhere near that. This one was so bad I poured it out.

I recently had this beer (not for the first time) and was disappointed. I've had this beer in the past and enjoyed it, but the most recent 6 pack I picked up here in Ohio really let me down. The bitterness was very pronounced, almost overbearing. The aroma was lacking the hoppy floral notes and the flavor was really bland and malty. I'm just hoping I got a bad batch. I will give them credit for the color and clarity though. On point as always.

Poured into a regular wine glass

L - Crisp golden
S - Citrus and pine
T - Bitter hops very apparent but mix very well and stays on the tongue for a while
F - Citrus and the hoppy bitterness of the beer work well together

Second time picking up a pack of this. Very tasteful and a hard to forget IPA to me. Love the strong hops dancing on my tongue. Would buy again.

M- Medium body, pretty long finish. Bitter, dry.

O- Decent a little too bitter in feel. Love the smell.

12 oz bottle

A deep honey amber with a craggy crown that lasts and leaves a good deal of lacing. Big grapefruit hips with some nice melon notes. A tongue coating hippiness that lasts with no astringency.

Poured from a can into a small can shaped glass. Best by date is about a month from now, 3/16/16. Smell upon cracking the can is a hodge podge of flamboyant hops, tending towards the pine, resin, and some tropical flavors. Stellar smell on this orange gold, hazy unfiltered looking beer. Crisp white foamy, pillow forming head with some lacing all around.

Taste is a big juicy version of the smell which fades, with a clean bite. Very drinkable good beer that is exactly the direction I like to see taken. Lots of underlying magic, a little sour, will drink again.

From a growler, pours a good-looking coppery orange, very clear, with a 2+ finger off-white, dense head that takes its time going down. Lots of lacing.

Smell is grapefruit at first, then layers of dusty earth, ripe melon, oranges and spicy herbs. Hints of pine. A bit of sweet malt is present as well, but it plays a secondary role.

Taste is more the spicy hops with a good foundation of malt. Decent bitterness keeps any sweetness in check. A little doughy yeast toward the finish, then a long, lingering grapefruit pith and resin finish, moderately drying and slightly resin-sticky.

Feel is on the lighter side, bordering on a little watery, but the carbonation keeps it from being overly so.

Overall, a really excellent IPA, on the spicy, resinous side, balanced in a good (not boring) way. Definitely good to have it from a fresh keg like this.

BBD 11/17/15. Cloudy medium amber pour. World class head volume, lacing and retention.

Very good nose of floral hops, light rind, pine and caramel. As it warms, a hint of dank is detected.

Light body that is slightly smooth. Normal carbonation level with a hint of effervescence in the middle and a bit more in the finish.

Very nice flavor profile that approaches outstanding. Hop flavors are the main focus coupled with mild bitterness. A nice biscuit and caramel provide exceptional balance from the middle on. Pine and orange rind are the dominate flavors with a hint of spicy spruce towards the finish. Alcohol remains well covered until it appears in the lingering finish of pine and orange rind.

Pours a copper color with well over a finger of head. The nose is hoppy with a touch of dankness. The flavor is well-balanced.

This is a well-crafted IPA but it does not quite rise to the ranks of exceptional.

Pours a golden amber in color with a solid very light khaki head that leaves lots of sticky lacing (which I love). Slightly hazy, likely mostly chill haze but with some tiny particulates. Aroma is a bit subdued with some pine and a bit of malty sweetness. Taste is hop forward, mostly resiny/piney with some light caramel malt sweetness. The finish leans towards dry with a moderate bitterness. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation. I liked this beer, it had a fair amount of balance for an IPA but did do a good job of showcasing piney hops that I do quite enjoy.

Gold/amber, with a moderate fizzy head with substantial lacing.

Smell of both grassy and fruity hops.

Massive caramel malt envelopes the palate, especially when compared side by side with a different IPA. While still present, bright indications of hops are beaten down by this caramel overtone very handily.

As others said...disappointing.

Average amber/cooper color. Clear and some decent carbonation.
Earthy smell of pine and hops.
The taste and feel where i had major let downs. Bitters did not correlate well with hops.
It was light bodied, watery, and again.....Dissapointing

Dark orange and copper appearance, nice haze, white lace, good retention. Aroma was juicy with the pineapple and pine.

Taste kept going, high ibu's does not translate to high bitterness in this one. Light body, tropical fruit for Utah, wow, keeps the body to a minimum to let the hops shine. Well done Uinta.

Uinta Brewing Company - Hop Nosh IPA. 7.3% ABV. 12oz can poured into snifter. Best by 2/27/16

Look: Pours a nice translucent burnt orange, with a small half finger white head.

Smell: Strong aromas of floral hops, dank resiny pine, and juicy grapefruit.

Feel: Smooth and creamy, with some carbonation. Medium bodied.

Taste: More earthy forward, with dank pine and hops making up most of the palate. The grapefruit enters near the back end, and remains into the aftertaste.

Overall: Nice overall IPA. This one leans more toward the earthly pine and resin side of the spectrum, whereas some are on the fruity side. This has a nice balance between those and the fruit. Finishes crisp and dry.

This beer pours a nice amber color with a 2 finger off white head that has excellent retention and leaves nice sheets of lacing. Smell is subdued grapefruit, orange, pine and bready malts. Taste is the same with a moderate amount of bitterness. Feel is medium with good carbonation, but there is a strange tingly like feeling on the back end which I do not care for. Overall good not great.

My kids chose this beer for me - and I have to say, it was an excellent choice.

This beer pours smoothly with a decent effervescence, and leaves a lacy finish on the glass as you drink it. Slightly clouding, a little darker than usual for an IPA, this fit the characteristics I expect of the modern American take -- light bouquet for the nose then citrus front and centre, caramel on the sides with a heavy body and pleasant finish.

Somewhat more alcohol at 7.3% ABV than needed for the flavour profile, but a really strong American Pale Ale that I will look forward to picking up again in the future. Yum.

Cloudy orange and a frothy white head with good retention. Bold tropical aroma with citrus and hints of pine. Tropical sweetness is followed by an increasing hop bitterness, a dry finish, and a moderate linger. Moderate carbonation and a full mouthfeel.

A great balance between bitterness and flavor. It's strong in both areas but not so strong one completely eclipses the other.

A: A deep golden blonde color that has a light haze and it has moderate to high carbonation. A think white head develops when poured into a pint glass and strong lacing.
S: A robust orange, citrus and grapfruit aroma that's well rounded and pleasing
T: I have to admit this is one of best tasting IPAs I have had in a while. A rush orange, grapefruit, tangerine, and other citrus flavors that provides such lush and pleasing taste. And the hop character is smooth, consistent and present all the way to the finish. Also, it has so little backside bitterness. A solid malt backbone gives this IPA added dimension
M: Moderate malt body medium and medium carbonation
O: A great beer in this style and the powerful yet balanced citrus flavor experience certainly is impressive.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy yellow color with a decent transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising to fill a one finger white foamy head. Light lacing strings out along the glass nicely.
The smell had some light sweet citrus and then some bitter citrus hops. Malt profile is really light.
The taste copied the smell in a nice sweet sort of way. Bitterness comes back in a small little bite close to the finish. Gentle semi-bitter to focused sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about a light to medium in body with a nice sessionable feel to it. Carbonation runs light.
Overall, I'd say this was very nice AIPA and am glad it's in my distro, always willing to get in cans to truck out hiking, fishing and sitting in my deer stand.
