12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 1/23/21, so over 18 months old.
Looks very good though. Body appears black until held up to the light when it becomes a deep but clear burgundy. Small tan head maintains in good form throughout leaving scattered lacing.
Malty aroma, a little molasses and raisin. But something is a bit off.
Strong tasting, some bitter coffee and a significant roast. No off flavors, a little dark molasses.
Mouth between medium and full, finish a lightly bitter, but strong roast.
Overall, a lot of strong flavor. Nice once in a while.

This black lager actually displays cola brown with a tall puffy tan head supported by expanding air bubbles that slowly collapse it down to a root beer float persistence.
Really toasty malt and cigar verge almost into peat, earth and maybe even the sort of smoke you might find in a rauchbier. The bitter, herbal swallow invites hints of almond that fully develop upon the second sip.
The medium-light body has an airy froth that finishes semi-dry.
It's an absolutely scrumptious campfire-lite.

Around a medium body with about the same for carbonation.
Aroma is roasted malt, bakers chocolate, smokey coffee.
Taste has a very mild sweetness with a bit of a dry finish. Bakers chocolate, coffee, roasted malt.
Overall it has a nice body, great aroma, and is very flavorful. If I find this I will definitely pick it up again.

It was kind of cool. I don’t drink many dark lagers, so it’s always a fun twist up on a classic lager for me. Not to say dark lagers are just a twist, but they are for me because I rarely have them. This one was okay. Not really good, not really bad, just a lager that looked like Pepsi. Nothing very special about the taste or smell or anything, really just another lager. You could definitely taste higher quality ingredients as opposed to your run of the mill cheap lagers, bud, coors, etc. but that lager taste is still very apparent. Just okay. I’ll take it over cheapies any day.

Drinking this at home.
Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Looks dark brown almost black with a tannish foamy head that dropped quickly to a thin ring.
Smells malty, a little spicy and sweet.
Taste follows the nose nicely.
Mouth feel is creamy smooth.
Overall a very nice black lager that I would definitely drink again.
Cheers!

Requisite darkness applies along with an average size head and good lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate and chicory. Flavor is true to the spirit of a schwarzbier, with modest sweetness, some smoke, a strong roasted malt backbone and hops that are more spicy than citrusy. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a lingering finish.

Bottle poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours dark mahogany brown with a frothy beige head that settles to a firm layer and laces beautifully.
S: Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, char, and a hint of smoke, dark fruit, earthy, a hint of pine, and some burnt sugar sweetness.
T: Roasty, char, coffee, hints of dark chocolate, and a touch of smoke, earthy, piney, herbal, subtle dark fruit, and a little burnt sugar and toffee sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, faintly creamy.
O: Feels bigger than one would expect from a 4% beer. Very nicely done.

Poured from a can into a tulip.
Pours nearly jet black. Excellent head and lacing.
Roasted malts on the nose blend with char and perhaps some faint hops.
Dark and roasted malts abound. However, some understated dark fruit and herbal flavors also balance things out.
The brew is solidly medium bodied but has decent carbonation and a good finish.
Overall, this is above average and checks the boxes well, but it's a bit muddled and one-note.
