11/18/17...pours dark brown, rich, and very little light getting through. Chocolate malt, roasted nose, light chocolate too. Coffee flavor, thin mouthfeel but packed with roasted flavors. Creamy. Slight cola too.

I really like this one. I am sad to see it no longer is organic. Boo!

Recently was gifted a few bottles of these. It is a beautiful, dark beer that smells phenomenal. It's feel was very creamy. To me, it has a strong coffee taste -- which as a non-coffee drinker was slightly off-putting. Even so, it was rich and delicious.

This was a surprisingly tasty and clean brew. Super dark black body, fluffy off white bubbly head that lingers. Huge roasty aroma and flavor with hints of coffee bean, subtle dark chocolate, and just clean crisp bready biscuity malts. Will definitely find and drink again

To be honest, this stuff kind of tastes and smells like burned coffee.

Pours a slightly dark black with a tan head. Smells of roasted malts and non roasted malts. Tastes of lightly roasted malts and a little chocolate. Medium body and carbonation. Overall a good black lager.

A - Pitch black body, almost white head, mild lacing.

S - Strong malt, pine and dark char, coffee and a bit of chocolate.

T - Very nicely integrated hop and malts, lush flavors of coffee and pine. Delicious.

M - Brisk, carbonated, with a bit of drying in the close.

O - Well meshed, full of coffee and roasted malts. Highlights of pine.

L: bright dark brown under a 2" light tan foam collar with fair to good retention.

S: smooth clean dark malt and light roast smell with nothing harsh or burnt, no hop aroma and no fermentation aromas.

T: It pours bright dark brown under a 2" light tan foam collar with fair to good retention. The flavors start with light chocolate and toasted grains. It has a clean fermentation character. The malt flavors are medium, hop bitterness is medium to medium low and yeast flavors are low to none.

F: The beer is very creamy and smooth with a medium body and carbonation.

O: The beer is full of flavor yet easy to drink.
