A: Pours a dark black, nearly opaque with some brown/ruby highlights around the edges. At first a two finger tan head rises. That recedes to a ring that sticks throughout. Spiderweb looking lace is left behind.
S: Roasted malt, baked bread, bitter bakers chocolate. Herbal, with a bit of buttery malt (maybe some diacetyl).
T: Roasted malts up front with baked bread and bitter dry chocolate. I get that buttery, almost diacetyl flavor again, but not bad. A lagerish and earthy, mineral kind of flavor in the finish.
M/D: A light to medium body. Well carbonated and crisp. Finishes dry, and smooth. Really easy and enjoyable to drink. For sure a session lager.

I really enjoy this. Maybe a bit to much buttery malt to make this exceptional for me, though it is not over barring. Still very good, and one I will be getting more off.

Pours a black color. 5/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, hops, hint of roasted malt, hint of wheat, and slight pine. Fits the style of a Schwarzbier. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, hops, hint of roasted malt, hint of wheat, and slight pine. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and blend.

A: Rich chocolaty-brown. Nice two-finger mocha head.

S: Sweet caramel, low in assertiveness. Coffee and chocolate.

M: Light in body with medium carbonation. A hint of creaminess.

T: Good malt sweetness and cocoa nibs. Low Munich malt notes. Graham cracker sweetness. Slight char on the back. Good and soft undergirding bitterness.

Enjoyed from a 12 oz bottle, this black lager pours a deep dark brown with a nice thick off
white to tan head that dissipates this a thin layer with very nice lacing. Nose of chocolate,
light coffee, lightly sweet malts and hops...all very subtle. Flavors are crisp and very
carbonated with chocolate malts to the back with coffee and hops, mild sweet malts to the
front and sides. Lightly bitter aftertaste from hops and deeply roasted malts. Very nicely
done session lager. Good for the stout or porter drinkers who want something lighter for
an afternoon after mowing the lawn, raking leaves, or shoveling snow.

Cheers
