Picked this up a while ago. Immediately crushed at how bad the ratings were for this. Figured it was time to get it out of my cellar. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a nice, clear super light cherry/berry juice hue with a one finger white head that faded to leave a thin white blanket and light side lacing.

S - Well, a first here. This has NO nose. I have to almost give this a Belgian Dip in order to get anything, and what I get is cherry cough syrup.

T - Well, atleast theres flavor here. Not exactly great flavor, but its something. Lots of cloy "sour" cherry notes here. Mostly just cherry syrup with some hints of sour notes. Aftertaste is far too "fake" but everything before that isnt too too bad.

M - Mouthfeel is good. Higher carbonated here keeps the syrupy taste off the tongue, however, it is a bit distracting.

O - Overall this wasnt horrible, just wasnt anything to write home about. Would I buy it again? No. It was not worth the $11.99.

[Suggested Glassware: Tulip Glass]

The pour was a clear cranberry orange with a small (less than 1 finger) light pink fizzy head that quickly diminished, down to just a small collar and had fair runny lacing.

The aroma was of sour cherries right off the bat with a mild grain malt and a musty Brett yeast and possessed a light fruity ester and a mild bubblegum scent.

The taste was sweetly tart with a strong note of cherries early on, progressing with a bold funky yeast presence and a sour cherry finish. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, with the yeasty sour cherry taste fading slowly off the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was light in body and dry in texture with a fizzy champagne-like carbonation.

Overall this was a tasty and refreshing brew with a very powerful fruit presence and a decent sweet-sour ending...

Bottle shared by Steve, 750ml into a tulip. Bottled March 29, 2012.

Translucent pink body with some orange highlights, white ring of bubbles serves as the head. Nose of raspberry and cranberry juice, berry pits and some tartness. Very mild malt character. Tastes of cherry and cranberry juice, mild tartness and minimal malt. Light feel, and almost comes across as a a tart fruit juice. Not bad, not not complex or intriguing in any regard.

I don't get the theme. It looks like Adam and Eve are getting ready to celebrate a birthday with cake. The beer comes in a 750 ml bottle and was split three ways somewhere in San Francisco's Presidio. On to the beer:

Guilherme's purchase of a glass was worth it just to see the color of this beer. It is a beautiful orangish red color with a brilliant bright look. Plenty of lace splashes around the glass. The nose has some sweet cherry, but it's mild. Some tartness works into the nose.

This is a mellow ale. The sourness is very mellow. The cherries don't dominante too much and don't overpower the senses. We weren't sure of the alcohol content beforehand, but we were sure it was "low". Sweet with a little sour. The body is a lighter medium with a very smooth texture.

Some days I might have been dissapointed by the end result from higher expectations. Considering we drank this at 11am, this was a good choice that didn't wreck our palates for the rest of the day.

750 ml bottle, bottled on 3/29/12. Pours a copper color, with a slight red hue. Pinkish head disappears after a quick minute. No lace to speak of.

Slight sour cherry aroma, with a bit of an earthy feel. A few other fruity notes that are restrained. Slightly funky.

Very earthy up front. Sour cherries are really an afterthought here. Not a great deal of tartness. Not very sweet at all, which makes the earthy notes even more dominant. Other faint fruity notes.

Lighter body, carbonation doesn't seem to liven this up much. Alcohol is a non-factor. Not terrible, maybe just not what I was expecting.

Crystal clear pink hued body.

Mashed black cherries. Alcohol. Sour peaches.

Lime, sour cherry, not cloying at all. Crisp green apple. Slightly astringent. A good balance of sweet and bitter here. Could be a little more complex with some wild yeasty flavors. Would have liked to see that. Semi dry at the end keeps you coming back.

I think this beer is underrated. It's a nice cherry beer that is extremely drinkable.

Uinta "Birthday Suit"
A: Served from a brown glass bottle with hood and wire cap over a cork into an Odell pilsner glass. Reviewed from notes. Expectations were well above average.

A: Pours a .5 finger head of slight pink hue, fair cream, decent thickness, and poor retention. Colour is a somewhat dull copper-ruby. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Tart cherry and sourness. A mild strength aroma. Simple but appealing.

T: Somewhat sour with a nice clean finish. Slightly tart cherry esters. Clean malts. Decently layered but somewhat restrained. Fruity and vibrant. Crisp and fresh but a bit of a missed opportunity. Not complex or subtle, but underplayed. It doesn't bring the tartness and sourness it needs to to be great. Still, I do like it.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Suits the flavour nicely. Crisp and pleasant. Nice carbonation.

Dr: Quite drinkable for the ABV and style. I'd get it again. A nice little sour. Certainly worth trying. That said, with work it could be great.
