From the corked, caged 750 bottle. Pretty old. It is dated 07/27/14. No wonder I got it on clearance. Sampled on December 6, 2015

A very foamy light to medium amber pour. OK clarity.

It is too old for me to give this an unbiased opinion. The aroma has some fruity notes, grainy malts, and butter but I bet that is due to its age.

Medium body.

The taste has a nice bready character but the hops are muted after all this time. I bet this was great a year ago. Not sure how I missed the date on the bottle.

Poured into a snifter.

4.25 A: Moderately hazed orange amber color. Two fingers of creamy beige head. Retention is good and tons of lacing is left.

3.5 S: This is the sweet and fruity version of the DIPA. Mango, pineapple, and apple are strong. Caramel sweetness with some graham cracker and breadiness. Strong neutral malt base. Rye gives some earthy notes.

3.5 T: Tastes like it smells. Big neutral malt sweetness, mix of tropical fruits, apple, and peach. Mild bitterness pokes through the sweetness. Caramel, toastiness, earthy rye.

3.75 M: Heavier body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy, smooth, with well hidden alcohol.

3.5 D: Solid beer. Give it a go if you like the barleywine-style DIPAs.
