At 4.0%abv., coming in a 500ml straight brown bottle; BB 28/09/14, served cool in a straight imperial pint glass.

A: pours a light tawny colour with good clarity, a thin layer of off-white foamy head, and very low level of carbonation.
S: citric, earthy, sulphuric and resinous at the same time, against a rather light malt background, reminiscent of sweet and yet slightly acidic raw nuts.
T: the lightly effervescent foretaste comes lightly sulphuric on top of mild malt sweetness, tea leafy herbal notes, earthy hops, and a rather soothing level of spicy bitter and chewy hoppy finish, while remaining clean and pretty dry consistently.
M&O: lightly carbonated though at time feels a bit fizzy, light-bodied but never thin on the palate, this 4.0%abv. traditional bitter has very good drinkability due to the good attenuation but retains a fairly good performance of both hops and malts, in Black Sheep’s own way.

Poured from a hand pump at Heathrow of all places.

A: semi-translucent amber. Had a nice white head that lasted a bit, with goods lacing most of the way.

S: Not particularly strong, mix of wood and grass, with a hint of citrus from the hops.

T: Pretty weak, honestly. The same grassy notes as the smell, and a little bit of bitterness at the end.

M: Very smooth, and probably the only good thing about the brew.

O: A pretty weak beer, but I shouldn't have expected much more from an airport bar. Oh well.

500ml Bottle: BBD 28 Sep 14, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 15 Feb 14.

Nice looking brew, light amber body with a good head that lasted well.

The nose was a blend of light malts, hedgerow fruitiness and woody notes.

The taste was also a blend, with the malts just about winning the battle with the hops that have now turned slightly citrus in nature. Dry bittering finish with a long aftertaste.

Not too bad at all for a 4.0% ABV session ale.

Bottled
Pale amber in colour with a frothy white head; aroma of slightly stewed malts; malty taste with a light grassy bitterness; and a clean finish. There’s not a lot more to say about this.

From Lidl. In Ikea's pint glass. After dinner. Strong grassy bitterness with lemon notes and dry end. Crisp and refreshing. More a golden ale. Reminds me Cruzcampo but better implemented and fresher

I have been drinking Black Sheep beer for many years both draught and bottled and it is one of the finest examples of Yorkshire and English Ale. All Creatures however is a complete disappointment and in my opinion an unnecessary 'trendy beer' away from its core values. English Pale Ale has never necessitated the use of Wheat. Proper Ale is simply, good water, malted barley and yeast. This new addition is not a Pale Ale it is a hoppy wheat beer. It has the appearance of the modern fad of 'golden ales' (better than lager I suppose), its cloudy, almost fizzy, over fruity and weak. Sorry Brewery but you have let yourself down here I do not believe that wheat and strong/potent hops is a match.

Poured from 500ml bottle with freshness date nine months away and ABV at 4%. Amber coloured beer with a decent white head. I'm struggling a bit with the smell, but I think I pick up brown bread, dried fruit and a little lemon.

Hops certainly dominate malt here from start to finish with very little in the way of sweetness. Lemon is the dominant flavour with a rather leafy edge to it. The beer seems refreshing at first, but the finish is rather dry, albeit leaving a slight oiliness on the tongue. I'm impressed by the hops, although the lack of balance makes it something of a sipper for me (unusually so for a beer without a moderate alcohol level), but certainly a pretty good one.

Appearance - Pale almost see-through amber colour with a finger of of tight cropped foam head that had around average retention. Plenty of tiny CO2 bubbles in the glass and light spider web lacing in the glass as you drink.

Smell - Light kilned malt character to the aroma with elements of sour lemon and pretty heavy pine style hops.

Taste - Very heavy hop character with the bitter earthy pine resin flavour that falls into a lemon grass like finish. The taste is dominated by the pine element that does not have the same pleasing balance as American hops.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied with a drying finish that is slightly chalky and has heavy linger.

Overall - a lot of hop makes this beer bitter and piney in a way that just does not work in the same way Brew Dog have achieved with their imitation of US beers. Having said that this beer is not bad it is just average and okay if you are into that sort of thing.
