L: Pours a clear golden color with a small top of head that disolves very rapidly.

A: Aroma of light bread, yeast, grass and spices hops

T&F: Starts of with a hint of grass and herbs with some light malts inn the background and it finishes off with a slight hoppy bitterness and a decent lenght on the aftertaste. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Crisp and clean mouthfeel but i feel it is to flat and watery.

O: A decent and easy driking everyday lager for sure, but is other german helles i would choose before this one. A little weak compared to other german examples of this style.

Bog standard Munich Helles. Biscuity malt. Pleasant hop character. Light carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and excellent. Gets better as it warms. Blah blah blah.

But isn't that kinda great? This is absolutely gold standard for the style.

So what if it's all a bit boring?

This is another example of what a good Lager should be. This should be available at bars and restaurants, like the typical American domestic beer is...on tap or in bottles. This beer doesn't try to be anything but just a perfectly balanced Larger. I would put this on par with Hoffbrau's example of the style, but just as a slightly better value as it's available in 12oz. bottles as opposed to the now common 11.2 oz. Euro bottle.

Pours nice and clear with a thick, VERY TASTY head, of which dissipates to about a finger with strong lacing on your glass. This is a BREW, however not too heavy, but just right. You can consume 4 or 5 of these easily and not grow tired of it... Typical German hops flavor up front, but finishes just slightly sweet with it's mouthfeel exuding the perfect mass.

I will be buying another 12 pack this weekend for some spring time yard work! PROST!

Basically a Heineken in a different bottle. Defiantly drinkable on a sunny afternoon.

On-tap @ Reichenbach Hall in New York, NY. Served in a 1 Liter Maß.

Pale gold, clear, with a big creamy white head. Fresh bready malt aroma with a nice balance of noble hops. Crisp and slightly sweet in its flavor, the balance is excellent with grassy noble hops showing enough strength to counteract the malt. Super clean and dry finish makes it easily to drink in large quantities.

Simple, yet full of flavor and very pleasant. This is drinking beer, my friends. Don't think too much about it, just let the lager consume you.

One of my favorites. Looks and smells great. Taste is classic German lager. My only gripe is with the feel which I think is a bit on the fizzy side. Overall you can't go wrong with this if you are looking for a classic beer that is easy to love.
