Served in a Weizen glass. Glass of cold water on the side to sip from periodically.
Appearance: As served the beer is a hazy reddish brown in color with a 1” thick off white head that recedes slowly but noticeably, leaving a few legs and speckles of lacing. The ring of foam persists for the entire beer and each sip leaves small patterns of lacing.
Smell: A nice subtle set of aromas with the banana and clove all mingled in with a bit of breadiness and dark caramel. Nothing strong and it all works well together.
Taste: As expected from the nose there is a sweet breadiness and caramel that shows traces of banana and clove. However, none of the flavors is particularly strong here and that makes for a nicely balanced package that still lets you know the various flavors are present while none of them overwhelm the others.
Mouthfeel: The mouth feel is on the light side of medium bodied and the soft but persistent carbonation creates a nice tingle and lasts for the entire beer. The finish is relatively short and ends with a touch of clove.
Drinkability and Overall Impression: This was an easy drinker with each sip following easily from another and tasting as good as the last. A good solid, well made dunkel weisse that hits the mark easily. Recommended.

I bought a 500 ml bottle at a Lidl store in Portugal. Poured it into a pils glass, causing a 2 inch head that settled to 1 inch foam. Warm, fresh aroma. Taste is a little disappointing — a little but of caramel and yeast. Not very interesting. The mouthfeel was promising at first, but it was followed by a bland aftertaste. Was expecting more from a monastery logo ale. Tastes more like mass-market output.

500ml bottle, 5,0%ABV, poured in a Weissenglass at around 6 celcius.
Colour , rusty brown to with a 2-3 finger head, dense white foam.
Light carbonation, creamy lacing.
Smell: not very strong, some burnt nuts and sweet caramel.
Mouthfeel: Very smouth and creamy, smell tingle of carbonation
Taste: soft notes of nut and burnt bread, not too yeasty, nice not too sweet caramel development, with a lovely note of almost dark choclate like bitterness in the aftertaste.
Very pleasant beer, easy to drink.

enjoyed at pony bar, hamburg, this is one i’ve wanted to try for a long time, quite a nice dunkelweizen, nice rich malty flavour mixed with the wheaty estery flavours, on the sweeter side, drinkable, pretty good

00ml. bottle in Mae Kasa, Thailand. Pours a cloudy red/brown with a reddish white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits. Tastes very roasty, malty, biscuity. Medium carbonation that settles. A pleasant but prickly mouthfeel. A good, solid, well-balanced Dunkel.
