Wildcat Malt Liquor has the thinnest little sheen of white foam at the top, a clear, very bubbly, golden appearance, and no lacing left behind. The aroma is of that typical Melanie Brewing Co. strange grape soda and wet grain. Taste is of sweetness, wet grain, corn, and a touch of somewhat wild hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Wildcat Malt Liquor finishes crisp and decently refreshing. The odor is strange, but this was better than I expected. RJT

"A full bodied brew with wild hops and lots of malt!"
Just who are they trying to appeal to? Does the average person buying this even care what hops or malt are? "Wild" hops even! Did they chase away some raccoons to harvest these from an abandoned lot behind the brewery?
Straight from the freezer into a pint glass, this pours a pale yellow gold, rapidly fading fizzle, though it does leave a faint crown of lace in the glass. After draining the glass, there's an intricate web of lace all the way to the bottom that's almost strangely Belgian in appearance.
Smells like wet grain and white grapes (wine yeast?).
Even super cold this tastes like wet manila folders soaked in white grape juice, minus the sugar. Still there's a weird residual sweetness that isn't there in the first sips. Odd cardboard and sticky tacky feel after the swallow. Well carbonated, not too gaseous, though somewhat astringent. A notch down from club soda. Watery and nondescript.
This was a $1.79 new arrival at the corner store, so fresh it was still room temp in the cooler. Clear bottles = cardboard flavor. Drink as cold as you can get it without freezing. City Brewery's finest swill!

Pale yellow with dirty white head of foam. The nose ia pretty weak and adjunct laden. The flavor is also pretty watered down and not as sweet as most of this style which makes me think that this one has a fairly low ABV. Watery and light bodied. I had high hopes for the wild cat with it's bold label proclaiming " A full bodied brew with wild hops and lots of malt" yeah..right. I think the wild cat is a pussycat in disguise.

40 oz. bottle. Looks suspiciously like THe Cat and The Cat Ice, but different. The label says it is "A FULL BODIED BREW WITH WILD HOPS AND LOTS OF MALT". I can't wait to rip into this one!
Appearance: I actually think i can see the wild malt in this beer! It is fistfighting with the copious malt!. Other than that, it is a clear straw colored thing, with a little white frothy head. Not overall bad looking.
Smell: Lightly grainy and corny, not too bad, it is not offensive like many in the style.
Taste: Well, it's not very interesting, the corniness is there, but overall I have had many worse. There is a pretty bad sweetness going on in the background, the strong corn is all this has. Hops are mild, opposite of label claims. I am calling the FTC tomorrow.
Mouthfeel: Greasy, somehow? I have never noticed this before in a beer, but is actually feels like carbonated cooking oil. Weird.
Drinkability: Not a good beer, not a bad malt liquor. Could be worse!
