Pours to a sudsy head that goes away. Light golden color and filtered clarity. Aroma is weak and grainy, not much there. Flavor is just about the same but clean and nonoffensive. Mouthfeel is light and clean. A so-so beer for a fantastic price. You could spend more and do worse.

Poured from a 24 oz. can. Has a light golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of corn, grains. Taste is malts, corn, grains, a touch sweet, very easy drinking. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is not a bad beer, and at $1.25 for a 24 oz. can, it's a good value as well.

"Brewed by Universal Sales, Inc." Not exactly... We know its you City Brewery, you brew all the cheap swill in town. Purchased and consumed in La Crosse WI. 99 cents. Can't beat that with a stick. Starting to feel the old brain cells a fadin' already...
Urine gold in a pint glass. No paper bag on hand, this was the next best thing. Flimsy cap of fizz, fades fast to nothing. High clarity, looks like apple juice. Smells like it too, with a side of cooked veggies high in iron.
Apple, mineral, astringent blah graininess. Sulfurous malaise. Right up there with Busch in terms of carbonation, tastes about the same too. Passable if ice cold, preferably straight from the freezer, to avoid the fusel alcohol unpleasantness.
Scrape together a buck from the couch and get crunkafied!

A - Light fizzy, clear yellow - what you expect from the style. Somewhat large foamy, bubbly, sticky white head. Disappears pretty fast leaving no lace.
S - Sweet cereal and corn aroma. Maybe a very little grassy hop aroma, but not much if there is some.
T - Yep confirms the nose with a lot of sweet cereal and corn flavor. Fairly sweet flavor. Hints of grassy hop and apple fruitiness, but they are mostly dominated by the sweet cereal/corn.
M - Very light body with a lot of carbonation. Pretty thin and watery.
D - A little too sweet to really be drinkable. Not enough hop flavor to balance out the sweet cereal.
Notes: It is what it is, a cheap adjunct lager. A little too sweet to really enjoy, but it isn't horrible. Overall it isn't bad for what it is, especially for the $14-15 for a 24 pack. If you are drinking cheap, you could do worse.

Pours a clear light gold with fizzy head.
Aroma of corn and light hints of grain. Flavor really isn't much different, at least it used enough hops to balance.
Mouth feel is light body, watery, with extremely high carbonation.
Overall, no comment.

Why do I rate this an average beer? Because that is exactly what it is. When Heileman owned this brewery they turned out a variety of beers, both top notch and pretty "lawnmower". At $9.00 a case on a hot Minnesota Saturday afternoon this is a beer that really hits the spot. Oh, by the way, I am 64 and remember when most regular beers tasted pretty much this way! Those of you that don't like this type of beer should spend their $6.00/6 pk on something else. I'm just glad that somebody is still willing to make a good "lawnmower" beer.

12oz can poured into a tall pilsner glass.
Appearance- very clear light straw color. decent amount of big bubbly head that dissipated very quickly and returns briefly with a little agitation.
Smell- reminds me of the kind of beer that my father would drink growing up. I would be able to steal sips from time to time. typical American Adjunct style smell
Taste- not the best, I was more hopeful but it has a very flat, stale taste to it. Almost tastes 'skunky'. there is a coded stamp on the can, but not sure what it means. Could be a bad batch.
Overall- Not a very good beer. I don't recommend it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Received in a trade from Ragingbull. Pouring at fridge temp into a pint glass. The beer pours a bright clear yellow color with bleached white fizzy head of .5 cm foaming up and fading quickly to a sparse surface layer.
Aroma is a little grainy malt and some white grapes, not much else going on here.
First sip reveals grainy malt and a bit of sugary sweetness. I again get some sort of white grape notes that I wasnt expecting from this beer.
The texture is relatively thin and carbonation is fine yet fairly prickly on my palate.
There is a bit of earthy hop on the finish but a lingering sweetness occurs after each sip. A pretty straightforward beer that seems to be a good beach beer or probably good for after a day of yard work in the summer. Tonite it is taking up space in my belly.
Not really bad, but certainly uninteresting and leaving something as I review the beer.

12 oz can into a pint glass
A: Pale straw yellow. Loose, small white head. Clear.
S: Sweet and adjunct-y
T: Pretty standard macro/adjunct flavor. A bit more crisp and clean than many. A little sweetness from the "grain" bill, which is actually nice.
M: Crisp, slightly dry.
D: Not a bad choice if reaching for a light bland American pilsner. Metallic finish detracts a little.

Poured into a pint glass this brew is the lightest straw color, almost completely transparent. There was a huge 3 finger white head that quickly dissipated to nothing. The aroma was grassy with some rice and light malt. The taste was odd, a little sweet like some white wine was mixed in the batch. A slight grape taste with minimal malt and no hop presence. More carbonation than the flavor can carry. I think there is a reason this is less than $11 for a case.

This is actually a really nice beer. It's not the same 'chug it ice-cold for a great buzz' stuff as Natty Ice. You can actually enjoy the flavor, if pilsners are your thing. It has some interesting flavor and mouth-feel, but it's clean and refreshing, too. Pleasant, but not overpowering or skunky.

Reviewed from notes.
Poured out of the can a pale clear pilsner yellow color with a two finger head that dissolves back to a thin collar in about half a minute with absolutely no lacing at all. Smells mostly metallic and partially of sweet corn and tastes about the same as it smells. Carbonation is jacked way too high on a thin watery body, it makes me constantly have to belch even just sipping it.
Well....at least it wasn't skunky in any way and it was cheap. I suppose that's good enough for certain circumstances. (post yard-work thirst comes to mind)
