Thanks to grub for opening this one.

Pours a cloudy orange/amber, chunky, thick off white head forms, some big bubbles, rocky, slowly settles to a thick ring around the glass, drops some nice lacing. Smell is real nice, lots of fruit, toffee, toast, yeasty bread, grapefruit, some floral hops, alcohol, oranges, quite nice. Taste is intense, hop tea, bread, biscuits, oranges, raw caramelized sugar, rotten citrus, very sweet, bready, almost sour citrus finish, tangerines, more alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation, significant warmth going down. Not sure I enjoy this but definitely interesting and unique. Thanks a lot for sharing Russ!

got this one as a bonus in a trade with Phyl21ca. thanks philippe!

500ml bottle. sampled april 5/08.

pours very hazy red-brown with a small off-white head. drops slowly with spotty lace.

aroma is nice. alcohol. grapefruit and orange. whole wheat bread. bit of honey. caramel. earthy. bit of yeast. touch of pine. bit of biscuit. tea-like character too.

taste is interesting. tea. graham cracker. over-ripe fruit. candy sweetness. over-carmelized sugar. medium bitterness level. earthy. yeast.

mouthfeel is nice. medium well-integrated carbonation level. medium-large body.

drinkability is ok. this is one interesting beer. a little wacky and not quite what i expected from an iipa, but neat. this one has been in the fridge for the last 5 days since it arrived, but maybe the yeast hasn't quite settled out yet - leading to the haze and yeasty character.

Bottle courtesy of thewolf: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention and some lacing. Aroma of hops is not as strong as I would have expected for an imperial IPA. Taste is slightly bitter with some medium notes of citrusy and piney hops with a rather low level of caramel malt. Body is full with limited filtration which I enjoyed with some low carbonation. This one was definitely missing some character for an IIPA.
