Cheers: Nice locale for a patio to check out some of the local action. Nice iron fence keeps the Elmwood vagrants and local philospohers at bay and away from your chicken fingers. A darts throw from one hell of a Med Vegan eatery in case you decide that cows are cuter alive. Hippie style bar (McGarrets) just down the street serving way cheapo pints of Saranac (Nac) in case your wallet looks like the Gobi desert- barren and dry- after 3 rounds of drinks. $3 14 oz "pints" of Bass is your best option here, unless you truly enjoy shelling out four bucks for a brew that isn't even a true pint. A can't miss during the daylight hours and as long as your parents, in laws, and significant other are paying the bill. Food is solid and respectable, will actually remember your name the next morning. Swell college upper class boozy atmosphere after the sun goes down. Lots ofattractive college ladies to make the time fly by. Big and Rich's We are coming to your city is played here on a regular basis: When we're up in Buffalo, Chippewa's where we go, Don't you know those Yankees drink enough to drown. It is perfectly acceptable to take a nap at the bar, but the shitter stall is not a good place to catch a power nap: it's too cramped.

I would venture that most of the patrons are interested in fine imported Canadian lagers such as Labatts Blue instead of a standard IPA. 3 taps are micro only, the rest are macro swill or "fancy" (to a 21 year old) imports. Brews served in the American version of a pint, which to clarify, is 14 oz glass that resembles a 16 oz glass, with a thicker bottom as to appear to be a 16 ozer. Cover varies after sundown for no other apparent reason than the Dow Jones average, plus prime rate, minus your house number, compounded on if you are wearing a skirt or not. Toilet paper may be made out of wood pulp.

I used to frequent Bullfeathers for Frontier Dems meetings, staggering and swaggering in with The Foxman on cold Winter evenings in the right frame of mind for a couple pints and brisk conversation in one of the very spacious back rooms--one upstairs, one downstairs. I always preferred downstairs. Anyway, the beer selection has always been good but never outstanding, with Bass, Samuel Adams, and the occasional micro mixed in with old stand-bys Labatt's and Bud. Decent bar space with lots of seating near the big front windows affording great views onto Elmwood Ave. For locals or newcomers, sitting by the front window on a snowy evening is something I've always found a treat. Chewed the fat with some local politicians and Union leaders over black-and-tans there, a very good place nestled within the heart of the vibrant Elmwood district. Occasionally tight on parking, one would be wise to try one of the local side streets in a fairly safe neighborhood.

A rather good tavern, and not bad wings. The bar keeps are quick on the draw, which always helps. Stop in.

Iam actually a little suprised that no BA in the Buffalo area has reviewed this place yet its a pretty popular eatery on the Elmwood strip.We went on Sunday afternoon and with being so warm outside most of the patrons were sitting outside,walking in it seems like an older place wood floors and and older pictures on the wall a decent sized square bar sits away from the window.There were around 10-12 taps with Southern Tier Hop Sun and Great Lakes Burning River as the marquee names,our server was very friendly and most of all attentive (not to mention nice to look at)with suggestions on the diferent menu items.A nice menu with a different array of apps we elected for the brositin board with gorgonzola goat cheese and two different tampenads wich was very good.We all ordered a different style of pannini mine was the chicken portabella and it was great the bread was fantastic.A place to hit if your hungary while pub crawling the Elmwood strip I think,Iam still learning that area and will likely be here again sometime soon.
