This location is pretty standard as TJ's go. But here are a few things that stood out...

It's one the larger TJ's I've been to and the quantity of beer they have on the shelves coincides. Unfortunately I wouldn't say that the selection is any larger than the normal. It's just more of the usual. Although they did also have Mackeson XXX there when I stopped by a few weeks back.

So if you're on the west side of Santa Barbara and need some good beer at reasonable prices...go to San Roque, which is nearby on State Street...but if you also need food and don't want to make two stops, you can probably find something you'll like here at TJ's.

Good luck with the parking. Shares a small lot with a surgical center that will tow your car if you park in their spaces during when they're open.

If Ralph Nader ran a grocery chain, it'd be Trader Joe's. Or something similar.

Decent alcohol selection. I've never bought spirits from there, but the prices on wine and beer are pretty damn good. The employees are friendly and the shelf talkers are funny. I've never asked an employee for advice on what to buy. I usually have a good idea of what I like. All in all, a pleasurable experience, even with the parking.
