Stopped by on while on vacation with my wife in August 2016.
Busy place on a weekday evening much to my surprise so that says something. Great tap list of European classics but the real gems were all the local BC craft, I haven’t even heard of half of them. I ended up with a couple pints of Yellow Dog IPA and some Four Winds Nectarous and was very pleased indeed. I could’ve stayed here all day trying different stuff but was loving the two I choose. We heard they had good mussels and were not misinformed, some odd option for a mussel pot but they were all terrific. We didn’t even get main dishes after trying them just ended up eating more mussels. The server knew her beer and did a great job considering how busy she was, I’d go back in a heartbeat if back in the area.

A worthwhile stop in a great neighbourhood. Impressive the number of offerings that have opened up in the last year or so, and this is one of the better ones. Went for lunch - the food was better than your average pub offerings (tortilla soup was excellent), but obviously what prompted us to stop was the beer. A serious bottle list (focused on Belgians) compliments the taps which are outstanding (slightly more expensive than most of the competition). While they definitely are pushing more mainstream Belgians (Fruli, Leffe, Affligem) they had plenty of decent locals and PNW

Le Merle Saison
Mirror Pond Pale Ale & Porter
La Chouffe
Driftwood Fat Tug IPA
Rogue Black Obi
Phillips Hop Circle

Would go again.

Finally went to this place after hearing so many great things about its beer selection.

First and foremost, it does have a nice atmosphere and, with all the belgian taps and proper glassware etc. everywhere, it really does feel like a little piece of Belgium in Vancouver.

The quality of the establishment is also good - its always busy and everyone seemed to be having a great time. There's nothing really hokey about it - i.e. it doesn't seem like they're trying too hard to be authentic, it just works.

Service-wise, there wasn't much to complain about. It took a while for the waitress to bring our beers but, hey, the place was jammed - can't really blame her for that!

As for their famous selection, it really does live up to the hype. Yes, it may not have as many great beers on-tap than a typical Belgian Bar, but its definitely got a good amount of them (I was finally able to try the Delirium Tremens, mmmm). It's really their bottle selection that shines. There's so much to choose from and, yes, the staff is good at remembering what you've tried and looking to make suggestions for the next round.

Our food was hit and miss. The Belgian frites and Mayonnaise we quite good, as were the fish tacos. However, our coconut cream mussels were way too salty (I guess it makes you order more beer, haha). Nothing offensive but this place is clearly about the beer.

Price-wise, the bottles are, indeed, quite expense (usually somewhere between $9 and $10) but the taps are a bit cheaper.

Overall, this is a must-visit establishment for any BA. The beer selection speaks for itself. If you're just going out for some drinks and some snacks, this is the place to go. However, if you want the food to match up the beers as well, go to Chambar!

Nice Belgian restaurant on Commercial Dr. The are a tapas bar so you order several appetizer sized portions and share.

I had the charcuterie and meat plate and my gf wanted the poutine. Both were good. The poutine had a Blanche de Chambly gravy which added a tart and yeasty flavour.

The beer menu was pretty good. Few Belgians were available on tap other than your stadards(Stell, Belle-Vue, Hoegarrden, etc.) There was a "Fresh Sheet" with all of the seasonal bottled offerings, however. Quite impressiv. There were trappists from Rochefort, Chimay, Westmalle, and a Achel. As well, there were other special Belgian brews, like Gulden Draak, Palm, Kwak, Karmeliet, and a bunch of others. The Fresh Sheet was 2 pages long and included tasting notes for all the beers. Obviously someone did their homework before opening this restaurant.

The service was excellent. The waitress kept track of what beers we tried and made recommendations on what to try next based on our impressions of them.

Most of the beers in bottles were pretty expensive. $8.5-9 for the fresh sheet beers. The tap beers were around $5-6.

Good environment, helpful staff, and a great menu made it a great time.
