12 oz bottle.
Clear, pale golden body topped with a good white head.
Starts with a hoppy aroma and ends with a lightly but dominantly hoppy flavor. in between, there's a nice hit of sweet light malts.
Feel: light body with medium+ carbonation and a semi-dry finish.

This rates higher than many other Shiner selections but it is not real special to me even though it is retired. June 2016 was the date on the the 12 pack variety box I got so maybe it's past what would be considered to be the "best by" date. That said, it had a mildly sweet /smooth taste and was certainly much better than any mass produced major market beers out there.

Clear golden with two fat fingers of fluffy white head. Head lasts a bit more than ten minutes and leaves rings of lace as the liquid drops.
Smell is bready with some floral hops.
Taste is bready malt with a matching dose of hops. Slight citrus aspect too.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with big carbonation. Finish lightly bitter and dry.
Overall this is and excellent extra pale meaning a lighter version than normal pale ales. With the 4.5% abv. I could do a six pack easy on a hot day and not get bored with it. Well crafted Spoetzl!

This is actually a very solid pale. It doesn't explode with flavor like good craft pales do, but it does have a nice clean crisp feeling and is a very easy drinker.

This was part of the Shiner mixed 12 pack. $10.99 at Sal’s, how can you go wrong?
Poured into a pint glass, the beer is a light gold with a bit of haze. There is a skim of white lace.
Aroma of fresh grass and a bit of grains.
The beer is crisp and grainy with very minimal hoping. As an APA it is a bit underpowered, as a blonde it would be all right.
The mouth is crisp and it is easy to pair with a burger or smoked wings.
Not a bad a beer but not a great pale ale.

Got this as part of a Shiner variety pack...nice golden pale ale with a refreshing light taste, hits the spot on a warm May evening...not too filling but has a pleasant bready smell...I would have another

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a nice golden amber color with tons of big bubbles seen streaming up through the brew along wiht a nice thick and billowy white head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a caramel and bready smell mixed with some other lighter fruity aromas of citrus and harvest fruits. Along with these aromas comes some lighter notes of a hay and grassy smell as well.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready and lightly hopped taste with a bit of grass and floral hop upfront. There is also a light caramel taste that persists throughout, adding just a hint of sweetness to the brew. Toward the end, more and more flavors of grain and hay come to the tongue, and when combined with the rest coupled with a little bit of a pine that develops, one is left with a rather nice pale ale flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is on the thicker side for a brew of only 4.5 % with a carbonation level that is rather average. The thicker body is nice for the pale ale style and really accentuates the flavors of the brew all while the moderateness of the body keeps the brew easy drinking overall.
Overall- I actually really like this brew. It is light in abv., but big in flavors of malt and has a rather decent hop hit for a pale coupled with a very satisfying feel. I hope they continue making this one as it is a winner.

Appearance: Clean golden amber, with a massive head of snow white suds. Attractive loopy lace.
Aroma: Floral hops and caramel malts — with neither taking forefront. Good balance.
Taste: Sharp and hoppy up front, but this one levels the playing field with plenty of clean malt grains and a near-sweet finish. Drinks very easily, and I could see this one being a fine gateway beer to better, stronger offerings. As it stands, not a bad beer at all!

Deep gold with white head that leaves specks of lacing. The smell is grass, hay, and yeasty aromas. Tastes are grass, a bit of lemon, yeast and some bitter hops. This is an ok beer but not one of my favorites in this style.
