Appearance: Clear medium golden color, with a large, persistent white head, adundant carbonation, and thick, broken lacing.
Aroma: Malty aroma with prominent grass and hay notes, a slight honey-like sweetness, bready malt, and a rather faint spiciness.
Taste: Opens with a coarse malt flavor, with little or no sweetness, midway throught the taste, metallic and herbal hop notes appear, these carry the taste to its end.
Mouth feel: Crisp and quite dry, and a bit thin, the carbonation is a touch harsh.
Drinkability/notes: A well-made summer beer, and of the type I consider to be a "gateway beer". That is, it would not prove intimidating to someone accustomed to macro beers. Pleasant and refreshing, although not outstanding.
Presentation: Packaged in a twelve ounce brown glass longneck with a twist-off crown, served in a standard pint tap glass.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of bright grain, and slight grain. Tastes of wheat and other sweet grain with bright fruit. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

Shiner Kölsch has a thick, slightly off-white head, and a bubbly, clear, burnished-gold appearance, with a descending, gray cloud, following the "swish & pour". The aroma is of white bread. The flavor is of spiced white bread, with some bitterness and sweetness. Shiner Kölsch has a medium body and a dry finish.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It left some subtle lacing on the glass. It smelled of butterscotch, caramel and some floral aromas. Sweet tasting with caramel, butterscotch and a mild bitterness.

Going by memory here, I was at the Shiner Brewery many years ago, tasting the samples and this stood out. It was just delicious.
