First review here. Got these in a 12 pack of various types.

Poured from a bottle into 12 oz scotch glass, small head bubbles off quickly with a dark yellow-green color. Smells first of salt with a hint of lime, not unpleasant at all if a little strong. Tastes like a better than average American lager with salt and maybe a little too much lime. The lime tastes kind of off, not bad, but reminds me of what you'd get out of one of those green lime juice squeezers.. The citrus has a bit of a bite to it, which I personally have never liked much in beer, but it isn't awful. If you like salt and lime in beer I think you'd really like this and should try it, but it isn't a personal favorite.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours straw yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of adjunct grain and lime, smooth and inviting. Tastes of sweet adjunct grain with just a hint of lime, but the lime seems a bit artificial. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, an above average beer.

Watered down lager. Light lime. Not a lot of flavor here. Very basic and bland.

Bottle. No head. Pale yellow color.

I’ve had better from shiner. This wasn’t very drinkable.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with small, bubbly head of white foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of lime, caramel and subtle hints of saltiness. Sweet caramel with tart lime taste and a margarita-like saltiness. Light bodied.

Sometimes you’re in a state of mind where you dream that you were on the corona commercial but she wanted a beer that was a little better than a corona. I didn’t wanna have to go through the trouble of cutting your own lime. That’s when I flip the channel and saw shiner with a little bit of lime and sea salt. And instantly I felt like I was sitting on a good beach in Galveston with my feet up staring at the golf drinking a little bit of some locally sourced beach-ade. Brew on Shiner, Brew on

Sixer ran me $10.92 USD incl. tax at a convenience store in New Orleans, LA.

"Summer lager." "Beer brewed with sea salt and lime peel and with natural flavor added." 4.0% ABV.

Served cold on a 92 F day.

The lime element of the beer has a sticky artificial lime syrup bend to it, eschewing real lime in favor of artifice. It's not bad, though, and the beer drinks fine cold. The salt is pretty subdued; I don't expect gose level saltiness but they could up it a bit to better effect. Backbone is all pale malt (probably 6-row?).

Clean drinking and crisp with a hint of an off-putting syrupy texture. Light-bodied ultimately, and refreshing for what it is.

It's not a great lager, but it's better than the watery lagers people tend to add lime wedges and salt to anyway. I'm glad to have 5 bottles in my freezer on a hot Summer day but I wouldn't recommend this beer to friends. It's about what I expected coming from Spoetzl.

Appearance: Slightly hazy medium golden body. with a modest, fine-beaded white head. The lacing leaves a very fine veil across the glass wall in an unbroken sheet. Modest carbonation drifts lazily to the surface.

Aroma: White bread, bitter lime, lemon rind, crackers, white pepper and grassy, mild hops comprise the aroma.

Taste: Opens with a mild wave of bitter lime and white bread. The salt, while mild ,is notable, perhaps because it is an uncommon flavor to encounter in beer. As the taste draws to a close, the bitter lime and grassy hops overshadow the taste, although both are quite mild. Finishes with a slight, lingering note of bitter lime and mild hops.

Mouth feel: Full, soft, and very pleasant, with mild carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: A very pleasant and drinkable summer style, appropriate to the scorching Texas summers, which, though over for this year, are always in the offing.

Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-two ounce brown glass longneck with a twist-off crown. Served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

Translucent amber with a thin white head. The smell is sweet with a hint of lime. There is a hint of lime in the taste as well, which is thankfully allowed to come through; some of the other summer offerings from Shiner have an off-putting bitter note, but this does not. Light bodied, moderately carbonated. Good on a warm evening.

Murky bright gold body with lacing on the surface. Smelled of sour lime, some salt, but not a margarita combination, rather more as I thought one fellow reviewer nailed it, like gatorade. Taste has strong lime, salt, blonde malts, and in general is pretty watery. Feel is slightly acidic and watery, not worth your time.

I have a 12 oz bottle of Shiner Sea Salt & Lime Summer Lager. I am getting both the sea salt & lime on the taste. This is really tasty. I can see myself drinking a few of these beers with some enchiladas, burritos, & tamales verde. Due to all of that sea salt & acidity from the lime this is definitely not something I would want to drink all day. Cheers! B

Pours a hazy gold color. 3/4 inch head of a white color. Good retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong lime and pale malt. Fits the style of an American Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong lime, pale malt, and a hint of citrus hops. Overall, all lime and almost nothing else, awful blend.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 9/29/2018. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lightly tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, spicy, citrus peel bitterness; and light citrus tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart limes, lemon, citrus peel, sea salt, cracker, white bread dough, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great robustness and balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no yeast notes present. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly saline/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4%. Overall this is an excellent fruited pale lager! All around great robustness and balance of lime peels, salt, pale malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Perfectly balanced pils malt, lime peel, and salt; with nice earthy hop presence/balance for the style. This is the best lager I've had from them. The citrus complements perfectly, and not overwhelming on salt. A very enjoyable offering, and awesome style example. Perfect for summer.

L: Clear bright gold with rolling carbonation, promoting an enormous pillowy white head with very long retention, leaving a thick head that leave streaky lacing.

S: Lime zest, limeade powder, candied lime, a hint of cracker, grass, and tantalizing salinity.

T: Lime zest and candied lime upfront, slighty tart with some mild acidity. Cracker in the middle with a hint of hay and grass. A slight corn-like sweetness. Finishes crisp and clean with a light but tangible salt presence. Perhaps slightly overly salty, but there is a slight off taste on the finish. This was served relatively warm, however.

F: Light, highly carbonated, and not watery. Crisp, clean, well-balanced, and extremely refreshing.

Aroma: Sprite, or maybe 7up. Lime peel note is pretty strong.

Appearance: Early on a constant stream of tiny bubbles poured up the center of the glass. It fed a small cloud of white foam that dissipated at the exact same rate, leaving a circle toward the edge where a ring of foam gave a few spots of lace. After the carbonation died down, it's just a hazy golden glass with no head or lace.

Taste: Gatorade. I think it's the salt, which is at the edge of too much. It's not a bad taste, but there is no malt, hop, or yeast note, there is only salt and lime.

Mouthfeel: Medium light body, high carbonation gassed out to a low medium range, but the beer never was fizzy. Oily texture, salty drying.

Overall: I'm a Shiner fanboy, and an Aggie, so I can't lie to them. I don't like this. I think the salt is interesting and should go in more summer beers, but the lime comes across as artificial some how. If you like malternative drinks, you might like this a lot. I like beer, and so I'm glad I just got a single.

The highly hazed pale golden beer pours out into a Shaker Pint with a 3/4” off white head that recedes slowly leaving no lacing on the sides of the glass to speak of.

The light pleasant aromas include some lime and lime zest, a bit of a malt in the background that has a slight salty character.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the focus on the lime and slightly tart lime zest. In the background there’s just a bit of bready malt and the whole flavor profile has a slight touch of salt.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium bodied with some prickly crispness from the moderate carbonation. The finish begins as all the flavors start to fade except for the touch of lime zest and it’s slight lime tartness and bitterness. The ending is fairly dry and persists for a while.

On the whole this is a pleasant enough beer for summer drinking. It’s refreshing but not challenging or particularly complex. I’ll be taking a pass on a repeat but would have another if offered.

Spoetzl Brewery "Shiner Sea Salt & Lime Summer Lager"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, seemingly without freshness dating
$1.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Look: Hazy yellow gold body beneath finger-thick head of creamy white foam. The head retention is quite good but the lacing is highly limited.
Smell: Soft lime, some mild malt, and a very light suggestion of saltiness.
Taste: Lime woven through sweetish bready malt appears first, followed by some rising but very light acidity, and then some salt appears in the moderately bitter finish. Neither the lime or the salt are that strong to begin with, although the lime trumps the salt component, and it's not too far off from being a standard golden ale.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp.
Overall: Sans the salt, a Corona Extra with a wedge of lime in it has more lime flavor, aroma, and overall sparkle. This is already flavored though so there's no need to carry fruit with you. It's slightly more interesting than a standard blonde lager, and it's refreshing. It works as a summer beer but it's nothing special.

Poured from bottle into tulip, good 2 finger cream colored soapy head, so so retention and lacing. Pale cloudy yellow in the glass, almost like a severe case of chill haze. Smells of grass and lime on the nose. Taste is lime with an underlying salinity on the front. There is a slight lingering tartness in the middle and the finish is somewhat dry, not crisp, but a low bitter finish on the end. Really solid lime flavor here, no notes of the artificial powdery lime stuff you get from the macros.
Mouthfeel is really good for 4%. This is the perfect summer beer, seriously drinkable. Will see how long this 12 pack last on the beach in Florida this next week.
note: for those who like micheladas, this is the perfect beer for it

Shiner Sea Salt & Lime has a thick, foamy, white head, some lacing, and a hazy, gold appearance, with lots of fierce bubbles. Aroma is of original Gatorade, and the flavor is similar. Light to medium mouthfeel, here, with a generally crisp, although oddly drying finish (high fructose corn syrup, perhaps?). Good pool-side Summer item. Not for me, but it's not all about me.
