Shiner Day Quencher Session AleShiner Day Quencher Session Ale
Notes: When we decided to brew a not-so-everyday everyday beer, we knew had to be balanced and refreshing. So, we created an easy-drinking ale that's dry hopped with Mosaic hops for a hint of tropical aroma. It's the perfect beer for any day.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance - The brew pours a golden amber color with a small white head. The head fades fast to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell - The aroma is strongest of tangerine and grapefruit aroma mixed with a little bit of grain. Mixed with these smells comes a touch of hay and a bit of cereal grain.
Taste- The taste begins with a cracker malt taste that has a bit of grapefruit hop taste. As the taste advances more grapefruit hop and a touch of herb come to the tounge. Some very light sweeter orange citrus as well as some grass and hay develop at the very end and leave one with a crisp and grapefruit hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel-The body of the brew is light and thin with a carbonation level that is average. The thin body is nice for the session nature of the brew and makes it quite easy drinking.
Overall- A decent citrus heavy session IPA. Nothing too exceptional but nice non the less

Lovely pale yellow body, crisp and clear; plenty of lively carbonation; thick and creamy white head. Mild nose; gentle esters with notes of berries and musk melon; some light malt character. The taste follows along the lines of the smell; light cracker with a bright and mild fruit presence; little in the way of hop bitterness; very clean. Light body; crisp; delicate sweetness with a bit of dryness towards the finish.

This is a pleasant yet unassuming beer. It is somewhat watery but still manages to deliver some nice low-key flavor to the palate.

Not a bad little alternative to a light beer for some football watching. Not much aroma, simple taste with little finish. Drinks a little thin. Don't really sense the tropical flavor.

Here is yet another CAN for The CANQuest (tm), CANtesy of my local, in-person trader @tone77 who just happens to be CANming by later today for a pick-up & drop-off. Yay!

From the CAN: "Every drop of Shiner is brewed in Shiner, TX"; "Enjoy Shiner any day"; "This easy-drinking ale is dry-hopped with Mosaic hops for a unique tropical aroma and a crisp, clean finish."; "18 IBU".

Once I had everything transcribed, I Crack!ed open the vent. It was then time for a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It puffed up nicely to form just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention. Color was a pretty Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus. Nose was very soft in terms of its hop presence. It had a light tropical fruitiness but it was rather unobtrusive, unlike many/most Session Ales that are all aroma & little to no bittering. Let's hope that this one is truly the reverse of that trend! Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but certainly big for a relatively low-ABV beer. The taste was slightly bready with a light tropical fruitiness that was discernible but not overwhelming. Finish was semi-dry and quite refreshing on this morning in the waning days of Summer 2019. I agree that I CAN see crushing a few on a hot, humid day, but I also think that I might become bored with it after a few. YMMV.

From a mixed 12 pack. Pours crystal clear light yellow with a thin white cap. Aroma is faint, corn, straw and biscuits. Flavor follows the nose nothing special. Feel is light and crisp, well carbonated. Overall just a light session beer. No frills.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass.

Light caramel color, bubbles dissipate in seconds, minimal lacing. I'm pretty sure this thing is in date but I don't see any info on the bottle. Smells like a light IPA, tastes like a light IPA, nothing offensive though. Negative marks? This thing is flat, barely any carbonation but that might be your thing.

I got this in a Shiner brewery tour 6 pack, personally I would not seek this out on it's own.

Better than expected and much, much better than their Shiner Light Blonde. Some spices, some hops, medium-full mouthfeel. Odd color of liquid. Not worth seeking after, but better than many other choices.

Bottle, no dating.

Nice bubbly gold colour, head of foam is on the small side but is long lasting.

I get some sweet malt notes in the smell. Little bit of citrus. Little bit fruity.

Malt is kinda sweet, some citrus, some grass but to be honest, this doesn't taste very fresh.

Watery finish. It's in the mixed 6pack so I don't have to drink it again. I like most of the brewery's offerings but not this one; I doubt I will ever find a fresh one of these

Another new choice for me from the Shiner mixed sixer. Light amber color and a touch of citrus hops in the nose. The carbonation is lower than expected, which is a plus. Flavor is citrus with a late malt equalizer. This drinkable and better than I expected.

Got this in the shinet brewery tour 12 pack, had the first one and loved it. The second one not so much.

Mouth feel- medium, aromas - tangy fruit and hops, first taste- citrus and light fruit with slight malt and hops, backend- bready with hops and quite watery. Overall flavors are very mute and subdued but for the abv and mouth feel its not bad. I just was hoping for more!

From a bottle, pours as a pale clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is slight, but vaugely fruity/berry. Taste is on the lighter side, hop-forward with slight citrus flavors. The backend carries a sweet maltiness; light so nicely balanced with the hops.

Clear, clean, straw golden beer with a 1/2" white head that retains as a cap.
Floral hops, Cascade like aroma...mild and pleasant. Some tropical and berry undertones.
Muted flavors, not as bright as I'd like to see a session beer...no POP. Berry flavor is the most dominant flavor in a passively flavored beer.
Thin but not quite watery.
So-so. Not much to write home about.

Nothing crazy here, it's just refreshing great beer. Pours golden, min head that dissipates fairly quickly. Mild smell of malts and oranges as with the taste. Delicious.

From the bottle, it pours a golden amber with a modest white head that slowly diminishes as you drink it. Spicy scent of hops in the nose. In the mouth, it is the same: spicy hop taste. Nice!
