Poured from bottle into tulip, good 2 finger offwhite head, good retention and lacing. Amber in the glass, somewhat chill haze going on. Smells of doughy bread, herbal/grassy hops. Taste follows the nose, some sweet malt, bready, cracker and some grassy/noble hops that bring up the middle. Finish is a mild bitterness with residual bread notes on the palate. Not a bad drinking beer.

Shiner Bavarian Style Amber has a thick, off-white head and a somewhat hazy, amber appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of white bread crust and sourdough bagel. The flavor is of those elements, with low bitterness. Shiner Bavarian Style Amber has a medium body and a dry finish.

Appearance: Hazy reddish-amber in color, with a small white head, which fades almost immediately. Scattered, fine patches of lacing adorn the glass walls.
Aroma: Modest aroma of toasted grain, crackers, and mild herbal hops.
Taste: Opens with caramel and toasted malt. Later in the taste. some moderate herbal hops present, giving balance to the taste. The finish is a bit dry.
Mouth feel: Full and soft, with slight, sharp carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A nice and well-made example, from the little brewery in Shiner.
Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber with a twist-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 4/14/2016. Pours clear orange/light copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of cracker, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of cracker, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Pretty clean on lager flavors; slight yeasty notes are present. Moderate dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, creamy/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is a nice Vienna lager. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt and earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Mostly clear orange-amber with off-white fizzy head of lower-moderate retention. Aromas of toasted and pale grain, light honey to caramel sweetness, floral hops, not a strong nose. Grainy palate, just toasted enough to not be harsh, some balance-adding malt sweetness, bread, cracker, and pleasant floral to faintly spicy hopping. Medium-bodied, softer medium level of fine suds. Semi-smooth and semi-crisp.
