Pours a dark brown clear but not much seeing through its to dark. Head is big and fluffy and very long lasting tan colored head.

Aroma is dark lightly spicy malts, lots of chocolate and sugary marshmallow, graham crackers, vanilla, light cinnamon hints of toffee.

Taste is not as rich and full as the nose would have you believe. Lightly roasted malts not near as sweet either, light toffee marshmallow and spices with really just vanilla making it through. Not really bad more like you would expect from Shiner but dang the nose had so much going on thought this was going to be heavier or more complex or something. Still not bad just missing a little something.

Mouthfeel is lighter side of medium with fairly peppy carbonation.

Overall smells wonderful but just tastes ok.

12 oz bottle from the Wall of Beer (Clemson, SC) with no date stamp.
Pours clear, dark reddish brown with ruby highlights and a moderate size tan head that has good retention. .
Aroma: sweet caramel and faint milk chocolate.
Flavor: sweet s'mores. Might be considered too sweet but then this is designed to be a s'more ale
Near medium body and carbonation.

Spoetzl Brewery "Shiner S'More"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle, seemingly without production codes or freshness dating
$2.49 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: I have to give Shiner credit for jumping on the 'make as many beers as you can' train so early on. This is just another example of that, but at least it's original - or at least i haven't seen a S'mores beer yet. It pours a clear deep mahogany brown body beneath a full head of rocky tan foam. The aroma is quite bold with sugar and vanilla and caramel and chocolate. Fortunately the flavor is not as sweet although those elements remain. In fact, there's really nothing else to it. The sugar and vanilla, or marshmallow, is the main component, followed by caramel, brown sugar, and milk chocolate. It's somewhat toasty and biscuity, and also subtly spicy like a graham cracker. It's a dessert beer though, and quite often dessert beers simply focus on the thing that they're trying to recreate. In this case I'd say they've done a good job. It's medium bodied and delicately crisp, giving it a little bite that helps to balance it. Overall nicely done.

Poor head, good retention, smell is sweet and chocolately but gets old quick. Taste is not as sweet (good thing) with a distinct graham cracker finish that stays strong in the back of your throat. Marshmallow is faint. Feels thin which is good because sweet beers tend to be too thick. Overall, i was pleasantly surprised and you will be too. Expected less from shiner and was surprised by a specialty brew.

Awful. I have got to stop buying Shiner beers. A muddled terrible mess. Yuck!

S'more has a thick, creamy, beige head, a dark red-brown appearance, bubble streams, and moderate glass lacing. The aroma is of roasted marshmallows, graham cracker, chocolate, and dark malts. The flavor is similar, with no bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and S'more finishes mildly sweet. A very interesting novelty item, here.

Poured into a dimpled seidel. Creamy beige ring, little lace. Cola body.

Nose is impressively true to toasty marshmallow. Taste carries that cream, tootsie roll sweetness.

Reminds me of a tweaked version of their chocolate stout birthday beer. This is one of those beers a great many will find unpleasant, and a few will absolutely love. Roll the dice by the campfire.

pours a clear , deep brown. a finger of thick, fluffy khaki head with good retention.
nose is sweet chocolate (a touch artificial) and marshmallow.
taste follows. chocolate, distinct graham cracker, and a bit of vanilla/marshmallow. Better than I'd expect from Shiner.
Clean, crisp finish with lingering graham cracker and marshmallow/vanilla.
Surprisingly good.
