Shiner's Kosmos Reserve is tasty. Taste is much like their other offerings. Smooth, mellow and laid back. Nothing stands out in this brew, but it's by far better than any American adjunct beer.

This was OK. Nothing to offend - which made it pleasant for slowly sipping! Nice to kick back with and 'take it all in'. I actually really liked the hint of seemingly peach that were lovely emanating from - the drink. Yum! Any time Shriner does a fruit - you know it's good! Was this any different? No.... not REALLY! It was still fantastic. Consider it an 'Old Time' beer with some great new flavor infused. This will be a beer some don't like, many DO like, and some (like myself) really LOVE!!!! If you really like Shriner's take on fruit beers (and let's be very clear - I know I sure DO myself....) then you will definitely like this.

Nice balance of hop bitterness and caramel sweetness, malt heaviness and fine effervescence. Not quite crafty, but personality than typical high volume beer. Quite sessionable. I'll have it again.

Pours a amber color with more malty smell with a hint of the hops in it. The taste is a nice malty flavor with a suttle bite of hops. The mouthful is medium and resfresing. Overall a nice offering from Shiner with a malt lover in mind.

Clear golden amber with one finger of five minute white head. Some rings of lace.
Smell is mild malt and hops.
Taste is lightly toasted malts with a balancing amount of herbal hops.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with good carbonation. Finish is lightly dry and slightly bitter.
Overall a decent beer should be their regular product IMO.

This one was decent. It was probably the best one in the family 6 pack I bought for my bbq, but it was still a Shiner. They tried, but it wasn't great. Very malty.

Appearance: Clean amber, with a thin head of off-white suds and little lace.

Aroma: Malty, lagery, pretty average for style.

Taste: Malty and very much a lager in feel but there’s a significant hopping here, keeping it more interesting. Not a remarkable nor unique brew, but certainly drinkable and worthy of a session.

I buy Shiners quite often. It is inexpensive and easy drinking but perhaps not top notch craft beer.

(L) It has a fairly clear golden to amber color and a thick off white bubbly head.

(A) Malty, sweet and somewhat fruity aroma.

(T) It is malty, sweet, taste a bit like cornbread, and it is a bit tart. It is also somewhat bland but it is not as bad as the common mass produced bland lagers.

(F) It is fizzy, crisp and easy drinking, and good in the Texas heat.

Poured from bottle into Tulip, 1/2 finger cream colored head recedes quickly to a pool of foam. Look is clear burnt copper, with nice carbonation. Smells of malt, caramel and earthy/grassy hops. Taste is very clean, nice malt to start then I get that grassy hop profile coming thru. A bit of a caramel finish towards the end, this finishes a tad on the sweet side, not much, but not dry. This beer should be sold in 6/12 pack formats. Great mouthfeel on this beer.

A bit of Bohemia on the Prairie.

Points for being all malt and making a stab at hoppiness. Clean, crisp, brisk, more stuffing than the regular stuff and a thoughtful expression that doesn't step too far out of their regular customers comfort zone.

Good enough for what it is and interesting enough to seek out.

Pretty deep color. It is caramel colored with a white head that leaves quickly. No lacing. Nose is sweet with a bit of caramel and some fruit notes. The taste is the same as the nose with a faint caramel and fruit taste but also straw. There is a weird bitterness that pops in for a bit near the end but gives way to the sweetness.

Light amber/dark blonde and clear with a thick head that dissipated to a thin layer. Caramel malty taste, medium IBU hoppiness, good carbonation. Body not overly thick and a little less smooth due to good carbonation. Overall, it's a good tasting beer, but nothing above average.

12 oz. bottle into a helles lager glass

A - Foamy, off white head that dissipates rather quickly but levels off at about a half finger in height. Beer is clear and highly carbonated with a great amount of small bubbles rising quickly towards the surface. Beer is copper in color. 3.5/5

S - Malty and sweet on the nose with notes of caramel, corn, pear, citrus rind, cereal grains and a clean hop note. Aroma is fairly strong. Very simple aroma. 3.25/5

T - Maltiness consists of corn, Grape Nut O's cereal malt, a light caramelization, and a bit of spiciness (rye?). Somewhat sweet with a slightly bitter hop finish that lingers briefly before disappearing. Somewhat of a buttered bread note throughout with a bit of tart green apple and citrus rind. 3.5/5

M - Clean, crisp and light with a scrubbing bubbles sensation but not really drying at all. Does not linger on the palate. 3.5/5

O - Decent offering that packs quite a bit more flavor than the Shiner Premium Lager while maintaining the light feel of the Premium Lager. Simple, straightforward and light with a malty flavor somewhat reminiscent of an oktoberfest but with the hoppiness of a lighter IPL. 3.5/5

Part of the Shiner Family reunion six pack. Fairly bland taste and a musty smell. Medium golden body with small silky head. Not much here to write about.

so so, was expecting something else.
Purchased with the shiner family reunion 12 pack.
Not much on smell and head.
Lots of carbonation
Hops are a little above average.
Taste smooth, easy going down, defiantly not heavy....kinda just average....could drink a few without any problem.

Like many of the other Shiner brand beers I've had, there's very little flavor here. On the bright side, it has a pretty potent carbonation level, so it's able to mask the lack of everything else.

Something likable about this little ditty from Shiner. It's an American lager, through and through. Despite the promise of being "hopjacked" (whatever that means), the hops are light on this one, just present enough to give a little snap, alongside a malt base that probably includes some adjuncts, and isn't especially bready, but is still somehow rather pleasing. Just a clean, smooth, easy drinking lager that is one of those greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts sort of brews. Not a bad addition at all to those nifty Family Reunion packs Shiner puts out.

usual mix of yellow and gold. Half inch of white head. Almost nothing in the aroma.

Taste was of the yeast. Neat. Hops in the background at best. Totally a 'normal' beer as my non craft beer friends would say. Gateway beer I guess. Everything is middle of the road. No off flavors. Not much to speak of in any regard.

L: golden yellow heading toward amber. Nice white head that disappeared very quickly and left no lace.

S: Not much of a smell, very faint scent of bread and some citrus.

T: hard for me to describe, I tasty the inky flavor that I have come to associate with some hops.

F: minimal carbonation, and no drying effect. Easy drinking.

O: got this from a busted pack at $.75 so do not mind being unimpressed and will happily drink the other one I have. But would not buy one at full price.

it's kind of bitter, kind of pale. it's like half way to a pale ale. it smells of a hint of lemon which is also in the taste some. it's not bad but i don't think i'd buy it outside of the mix-pack.

I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. It's similar (in my non-professional opinion) to some good German beers that I've had - rich, full-bodied, aromatic, and very tasty.

Yellow and gold, looks lagery, about 1/2" of small white bubbles, almost no lace. Aroma was neutral, minimally sweet.

Taste again says lager. Carbonation pretty low, shockingly. Plain, a bit of hops in the 30ibu range I'd guess. Nothing heavy here, totally a Texas heat beer.

Really non descript stuff. Pulled out of the family reunion six pack, which was a good idea. A good beer to have lingering in the fridge when someone not as dumb about beer as we are comes over.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon/orange peel, pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Good robustness and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavor; with a nice crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate amount of dryness after the finish from bitterness. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a good hoppy pale lager style. All around good robustness and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
