Great light beer without the typical light beer taste. Has good flavor and color for only 110 calories. It is light so obviously you cannot compare it to a full bodied beer.

Not gonna lie, this beer is probably horrid when paired with nothing. However I’m in Dallas at Terry Black’s BBQ and it is absolutely doing the job. The light crisp sweetness of the beer cleans the palate as I go in for another savory bite of brisket. An excellent warm day option when served ice cold with bbq. Probably no other occasion I’d have it though.

This beer pours a very clear light golden color. The head was 1 finger when poured from the bottle. The retention was good, though, no real lacing on the glass.
The nose is very minimal. Just the faintest hint of a malt/sweetness.
Taste: There's a decent malt bill here, but not much beyond this.
Lighter bodied, but as expected. There is a bubbly feel to this beer.
Easy drinking, and for what it is, not bad at all.

Single can from a good old friend in Texas.
Chrystal clear straw color with a bubbly white head, fair retention.

24oz can into a pint glass. Confusing freshness dating seems to indicate canned 7/30/18, but I find that hard to believe, though it was a bit of a gusher.

Looks nice enough in the glass, clear pale golden yellow body, slow streams of carbonation. Bright white head shrinks to a ring and covering, very little lacing.

Faint clean malt aroma.

On tasting, clean, light, sweet, malty, watery.

Mouth between thin and medium, finish clean malt.

Overall, not bad for a light lager. Could likely drink a case of these 24ozers on a hot summer day of yardwork, and still get up for work next morning.

I hate rating beer according to my preference because that is not fair but I really did not like this beer. It taste like piss water.

It has malt and corn taste. I read it has more flavor than most light beers so maybe I shouldn't be so harsh.
But still. Not my style. I will adjust my taste rating a little so I don't drop their ratings but wouldn't drink again if you paid me.

L: Pours piss pale yellow in color with a very thin white head.
S: Smells maltier than most light beers, has a corn aroma as well.
T: Once again, has a maltier taste & more flavor than most light beers, so props on that.
F: Light-bodied, high carbonation, refreshing.
O: For what it is, a light beer, it's pretty good.

Pours a clear golden with a white head. Very slight smell of bready malts but that's it. Taste is....not bad. It's a light beer so there isn't huge amounts of flavor but as I was drinking it- it couldn't be- was that a taste of hops flashing over my tongue on the finish? It's not a lot of hoppy flavor but just a slight tang of floral bitterness. It goes down like any light lager, nice and easy. Overall the most flavor I've had from any light beer so far. Not bad but it's a little expensive for what it is.

Not a bad beer at all. Real light taste easy to enjoy and if you don't like Shiner Bock but want to say you drink Shiner (to look more Texan) there here you go!

All jokes aside, decent beer. It has a lack of taste and to be honest it taste watered down compared to other light beers such as Bud Light, or even Coors Light. I would drink this again but personally wouldn't buy for my self. There are better tasting options.

Overall, a decent light lager from Shiner! I admit to being pleasantly surprised that it did not stink. The taste is light, of course, and does not have much body to it. However, the taste is not bad at all and I would not mind slurping down a few of these on a warm summer's afternoon when I don't want a lot of ABV in my stomach.

Poors super thin light pale yellow finger width head that disappears almost instantly leaving no cap or lacing it is what it says it is. A light blonde with low carbs, smell of a light bread and yeast, bready flavor with a very low sweetness follower pretty good for a lighter carb beer, thin to low medium mouthful medium carbonation doesnt leave me thirsty and doesnt leave a sticky residue. Overall good light carb beer.

Look: Crystal clear, medium gold. Average white head.
Smell: Clean mineral water, light malt.
Taste: Slightly sweet, white bread, very light floral hops. Extremely flavorful for a light beer.
Overall: To me, this beer taste like a cross between a Kolsch and a Helles. As far as an all day drink it may be a little too flavorful. Compared to similar beers with similar calorie and carb count this one is in a league of its own.

Poured from a bottle into a tap glass.'

Pours yellow-gold and crystal clear. Fizzy head gives way to limited lacing. Lots of bubbles keep streaming from the bottom of the glass.

Pale grain malts hit the nose first, followed by a general grainy/husk aroma, closing with a hint of floral/grassy hops.

The brew is very sweet on the tip of the tongue, with a fairly adjunct-forward (corn) delivery. Bran/husk flavors in mid-stream/ mixed with a bit of pale clean grain. The brew concludes with only a kiss of grassy hop.

The brew is light, well-carbonated, and crisp. It's very refreshing and drinkable.

For a light AAL, this isn't too bad. It has a bit more character than the usual suspects, and isn't quite as sweet.

Many of the reviews here are worthless considering this is a LIGHT BEER. It's just ok - I probably won't buy it again. It has a corn sweetness that lingers on my tongue like a film that won't go away. The initial taste is ok but then it makes me want to rinse with water. It's Not refreshing.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a plastic cup. An airplane comp on a transatlantic flight.

L: Clear light golden urine pour. Thin fizzy white head.

S: Macro corn and skunk anus.

T.F: Tastes bad. Jock-strap sweat bad. A bit of grains up front... loads of skunk. Corn and some sweetness... there may be a few hop particles. Thin and watery. Fizzy. This tastes like regret and failure.

O: Just awful, and there is really no circumstance under which it's ok to choose this beer.

Pours crystal clear water color with slight yellow tint. Thick white cap, minimal lacing. Aroma is saltine crackers and a whiff of dare I say European hops. Flavor is sweet corn, and enough hops to keep me interested at 4.2%. Feel is light and crisp, well carbonated. Overall a decent beer for what it is.

Numerical scores above show the most recent review.

1st Review - Painfully dull, way too sweet, a light beer can be interesting with some decent hops, spices, etc, but this is just not enough. You have other seasonals that are far better (such as the day drinker session ale) at pulling off this style.
AP: 3 AR 2.75 F 2.5 MF 3 OA 2.75

2nd review - Knowing that this is a low carb (under 4g) and low calorie (99) makes all of the difference in the world.

If compared next to other low carb beers, everything looks much, much better

348 18 stamped on the bottom of the bottle. That's not good.

It pours a clear straw gold with an excellent head of foam.

It smells sweet, vegetal, corny. Not too good.

Corny, slightly sweet, bit of lemon, thank goodness it's light flavoured: intensified, I might like it less.

Watery mouthfeel.

Single bottle, thankfully.

This is the BEST- they can’t keep it in the stores around my Texas Hill Country town. The MOST OUTSTANDING thing is it is in every way a rival to a full rich german beer- or any other regular beer- BUT IT’S 99 calories a bottle. IT IS INSANE how GREAT this beer is. I know I will regret rating this because now it will become EVEN MORE scarce.

Picked up the Shiner mixed pack on a lark. Not sure what this is but let's find out.

Super pale yellow color and no head. Nose is faint floral and light malt. Minimal flavor and lots of carbonation. For a light beer its fine I guess.

From a bottle, pours as a clear straw with a thin white head. Aroma has grain and a tiny bit of hops. This a surprisingly pleasant light beer. It has a measured taste of hops and malt; has a refreshing effervescent feel; offers a bit of grassiness and florals at the back end. For 95 calories, this is great!
