A very meh beer. Not much complexity with a weird funky quality. The pear flavoring was clearly very artificial and almost syrup like. I didn't hate this beer, but certainly wouldn't buy it again.

I have never had a beer with such a unusual taste very different but enjoyable. its the first time I have seen beer from this brewer and the first time I have had a beer made with prickly pear cactus. many of you may turn your nose up but I like to try different and unusual beers. drinking the same style of beer all the time is boring to me. so try it and let me know what you think.

This is a surprisingly good beer. I tried it not knowing what to expect - it's very sweet yet has the Shiner taste that I love. I would call this a summer beer, personally - great for a hot day while having a barbecue.

A summer beer still in the frig. A light crisp beer with a slightly sweet fruit flavor. Poured a clear dark yellow from a bottle into a pint glass. Thick short lasting head and good lacing. Had a goal tonight at hockey and this Shiner was just right before going to bed!

Pours a clear light golden color with white head. Pear, light fruit on the nose; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with light fruit flavors. Sweet.

This beer pours darker (darker than Yuengling lager) than I expected and was deceivingly sweet smelling but is not sweet when drank. It was very floraly in the smell and the taste. When people tried it they usually had more then one. Near the end of the keg it started tasting bad and I had to pour off maybe the last ten pints.

Pours a clear deep amber producing 1.5 fingers of frothy, beige, shortlived head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is crisp but perfumey prickly pear & stone fruit, floral & lemon with a mineral hint. Taste is tangy, prickly pear, citrus, vegetal & medicinal with a slight toasted malt hint, it has a cloying perfumey sweetness up front with a tart but mild drying finish. Aftertaste is fruity, mineral & lightly bitter. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation, thin with a light prickle, drying in the finish & aftertaste. For those who have never tasted raw prickly pear flesh this brew is pretty true to the aroma & flavor as I remember it.

A: Medium amber in color with a tall white head.

S: Sweet and fruity smelling. There is a little bit of an apricot like smell, but the fruitiness comes out as fake.

T: Light and fruity, although like the aroma the fruitiness comes off as fake... there is a slightly bitter note in the end..

M: Light and highly carbonated.

O: Overall meh... fairly on point for the look and feel, but just a fake tasting brew.

A - Pours a clear amber with a two-finger white creay head. Good amount of sticky lacing.

S - Aroma is ripe berries, watermelon, and a sweet breadiness.

T - The taste follows the aroma with watermelon, raspberry, and strawberry upfront. There is a light graininess in the finish.

M - Light bodied with medium/high carbonation. Crisp mouthfeel with a dry finish.

O - This is a very drinkable summer beer. The flavors are light and crisp.

It pours light amber in color with a small head that quickly disappears. It has citrus and floral aromas with a sweet, tart aroma of dark fruit. It has a sweet tart flavor with citrus and dark fruit like flavors that has an odd bit of sweetness to it. It is a bit lively on the palate. After a white, the taste doesn't sit as well for the overall experience as it did when I first started drinking it.

A: crystal clear; bronze colored; 1 finger off white head that receded to a wispy cap; very little lacing;

S: the prickly pear is front and center, but I also got a whiff of breadiness;

T: with most fruit beers, the fruit character comes through in the aroma, but not so much in the flavor; not so with this beer; the prickly pear is dominant from start to finish; slightly sweet, not bitterness;

M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation;

O: I'm not much of a fruit beer fan, but this is well done;
