Bottle pour -clear carmine/mahogany color with foamy khaki head leaving moderate lacing. Nose is faint and weak with hints of caramel ,baking spice and funk.Taste follows up with mild stone fruit and a weird sweet caramel/soy sauce thing-WTH? Finish is almost dry with some lingering caramel/soy.Not sure what they were aiming for but this is nowhere near a red ipa or even an amber ale. That being said, it's interesting in a freak show weird kind of way.....

Added picture you see
Bought a single 11.15 oz bottle Don Quijote $4.39
Smell of caramel, spices
Brown-reddish color
Heavy-medium mouthfeel
High carbonation
Taste of plums, dates caramel, spices
Overall an interesting beer that was nice to try. Doesn't taste like an IPA, maybe more like a Belgium quad with lower ABV.

Okay. I need to get one thing straight first: you can not expect a full-on craft beer in the same exact way as it is in the US. You just simply can’t, and not (just) because of the craft or technologies but because of the ingredients, the air, the water, the sunshine etc. It just won’t be the same.
So when I see an Amber Ale (labeled as a “Red IPA”...) made in Japan, I start having doubts - which turn out to be valid in the end. Because no matter how much they are going to try to make this right, it is always going to be a far cry from those outstanding ones that I had from the States. Point blank.
Sorry, not too much more to add.
Try harder? Or give up trying whatsoever? I would vote for the first one.
