Bottled 2013. Thanks Stormking47.

A: Pours a mahogany (shocker) color with a foamy dark tan head. Spotty lace was left down the glass.
S: Smells of tart dark fruits, greasy caramel, and smooth malt. Light butterscotch.
T: Follows the nose, caramel, dark fruit, tart cherries and cherry pits, lingering tannic tartness, with a slick caramel, chocolate, and greasy caramel sweetness. Sweet fruit juice mixed with tart drying tannins and cherry skins.
M: Medium-full body, greasy, low but tingly carb, slick and greasy mouth.
O: Surprisingly good. Soft tartness and sweet fruit mixed with slick and greasy caramel. Very good. Thanks Josh.

Was told bottles of this were a year old (sampled at the recent de Garde release event), and my impression is/was that the extra bottle age didn't help it much. The beer came across as sour, with some light fruit... very simple flavor profile. Not awful, but pretty much a big yawn. Didn't see many folks clamoring to try this at the bottle release.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter. 2013 bottle #95 of 400.

Appearance - Brown body with a distinct red tinge. Small khaki head. Very pale head.

Smell - Cherries more distinct than raspberries, but they present themselves. Rich caramel. Vanilla.

Taste - Less exciting. Cherries are strong. Grass sourness. Very oaky in the back.

Mouthfeel - Moderate sourness. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Smells better than it tastes. Lacking a bit of finesse.
